One day, I thought to myself, wouldn't it be great to not jump through ridiculous hoops when I want to play a particular audio file. I don't want to keep my phone by my bed to transmit to a speaker via bluetooth. I don't want to connect to a server or be limited to what a "smart" speaker can play. I just want a speaker that plays a specific track that I want to hear. I have a mix of white noise sounds and isochronic beats (binaural beats played in the open air) that help me to sleep. It is so complicated to get any other speaker to play what I want to play. The closest is playing it as a YouTube playlist on the TV, but then the TV is on all night. Too complicated.This speaker solves all of these problems. I made a 10 hour version of my sleep audio track, turned it into an mp3 (about 1 to 1.5 Gb), and put it on a USB. Later, I got a micro SD and put it on that so nothing would be sticking out of the back. All I do is turn on the speaker and it plays my track. No problems. I have memorized the four buttons on top that I need to know, volume and skip, and everything is good. I use it plugged in, but I have used it on battery, and it seems to be fine running all night on a full charge.If you have mp3s and you know how to put them on a USB or micro SD drive, this speaker saves a lot of trouble in certain cases. No need for internet or complicated workarounds. It works as expected.

Very nice extra speaker

I love this little thing. Great sound quality in a small package. If you're a head-banger who loves deafeningly loud music that the whole neighborhood can hear than this will probably be a little undersized for you, but for my purposes it's perfect.I mainly use it for 2 purposes. One is to listen to my mp3 collection while i work in my shop. I put all my mp3 on a micro SD, inserted it into this unit and selected the mp3 mode and it plays them perfectly. I particularly appreciate that you can switch modes (to bluetooth or radio) and then when you switch it back to mp3 it returns to the exact same place where you left off. This is also true when you turn it off and back on.The second thing I use it for is listening to sports on the radio. I don't care to listen to the TV announcers so when the game is on TV I turn the sound all the way down then tune the game in on the radio and run the audio through a delay program on my tablet (to sync it with the television broadcast) then I send the audio to this unit through bluetooth and it comes through loud and clear.I also occasionally listen to podcasts while working in my shop and I use bluetooth on my phone to send the audio to this unit so it is louder and clearer than my phone's speaker.I don't use the radio function on this unit much. I does work, but there is no dial or digital readout so it is very difficult to find a particular station.

Bought this for my mother so she can listen to music from a USB flash drive or the radio. Radio reception on this unit is not good and the USB did now function at all. USB was properly formatted per their instructions in FAT32 and MP3. Worked fine in my car USB player. Zero customer service from whatever this company is. Returned.

This speaker is the BEST OPTION I found to produce the Brown noise variation which I like for sleeping. The best White/Brown Noise or background noise for sleeping varies between people. The devices that have a fixed selections stored or produced by the device did not work for me; I tried several and wasted my money. There are thousands of these sounds available on YT so that you can find the ones that relaxes you most. Save them to a micro-SD card and this speaker will play it all night. If you change your mind about what is soothing, just save another version. The DY22 model remembers your last volume setting and Mode selection so you don't have to readjust it each night. The only negative is that it makes a "pop" when it is switched off; otherwise I would have given 5-Stars.Connecting to the speaker with Bluetooth was easy. I also played some music from a flash drive. The micro-SD card over-rides the flash drive if both are connected. It was still playing my Brown noise recording after 12 hours on battery when I decided to stop the test. Don't think this speaker will produce high quality music. That is not possible from speakers and an amplifier this small and inexpensive. But it does everything I want and I am happy.
