Preparation for Total Consecration to Jesus Christ Through Mary: According to St. Louis DeMontfort

Try Mary! Try Marian Consecration!
As Catholics, we kind of distinguish ourselves from other denominations in a number of ways (but not limited to these, and not necessarily in this order): we are united by a Pope; we believe in Purgatory; we have the Mass and the Sacraments; we have a specific reverence, devotion and, in fact, adoration to the Real Presence we believe is there in the Holy Eucharist; we have a devotion to Mary, the Mother of God. Speaking of the latter, we may have personal ways of expressing or practicing our devotion to Mary, and these may vary. However, we have a number of familiar ways that the entire Church uses to honor Mary and seek her powerful intercession. I suppose the most popular means is the daily Rosary. We have the Litany of the Blessed Virgin and others that are appropriate. There are popular prayers like the Angelus and Memorare. Many parishes have the weekly Miraculous Medal Novena. These I think would be the most popular. However, one that is gaining popularity is what is called the De Montfort Consecration. One reason for this is Saint Pope John Paul II, who entrusted himself and his papacy completely to Our Lady and her powerful intercession, and why he included the 'M' on his coat of arms and took the motto: "Totus Tuus" which expressed his own Consecration. The Holy Father grew in confidence in the Blessed Virgin, he said, after reading and rereading works by Saint Louis de Montfort, especially his treatise, True Devotion to Mary: with Preparation for Total Consecration. He said it was a life-changing experience for him. The basic message the Holy Father found in these writings was that since Jesus, Our Lord came to us from the Father through Mary, we must return to Him in the same way. This is something for us to consider as Catholics. Maybe it is something we can plan to look at during next May, the month of Our Lady, or October. To live the consecration is to renew it daily like the Pope and, I am confident, to be sure to grow spiritually. This book is an updated version of Saint Louis de Montfort's Preparation for Total Consecration or the original hardcover version so many people carried around with them: Preparation for Total Consecration according to Saint Louis De Montfort. Normally, a 33-day preparation precedes the consecration. That is what is found in this book, as well as the actual consecration. For many people who choose to consecrate themselves, it is the method they use. Others want to understand more of what is behind the consecration and spend the time, like the Pope, reading and studying the True Devotion to Mary: with Preparation for Total Consecration. If you find the idea of this consecration appealing, I encourage you and your family to make it.There is presently a priest, Father Michael Gaitley, who has received a lot of attention lately because of his fine work speaking about this devotion and promoting it. You can find his approach to this in: 33 Days to Morning Glory: A Do-It-Yourself Retreat In Preparation for Marian Consecration.

Great spiritual workout!
This small book guides beautifully through the teachings of the saint. Expect lots of graces to help you to fall in love with Mary and draw you closer to Jesus. Prayers, scriptures and meditations are woven into a fabric of each day. Takes only 20 min a day to follow the suggested routine of spiritual exercises, yet the the benefits far exceed the personal efforts we put in it.

Best Book for Consecration!!!
This is the best book if you are wanting to be consecrated to Jesus through Mary. Other books do not stay true to proper consecration. One I most recently encountered was filled controversial teachings and was constantly saying that St. Louis de Monfort's way to consecration was a prayer marathon. That book was garbage. This book is awesome! This book stays true to the St. Louis de Monfort way of Consecration to Jesus Christ through Mary. It is deeply moving. It allows you to truly take a spiritual journey within yourself, bringing you, at the end, to complete love in the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus through the loving arms of Mary. This is the only book I would use. This Priest got it exactly right. Oh, and so we all know, there are proper ways to do things and there are quick ways to do things. Consecration is to be done properly. This book is a treasure that helps you do just that and guess what...it's not a big long prayer marathon...it's absolutely, perfectly beautiful. And, as this book stays true to the St. Louis de Monfort way of Consecration, it is possible for those using it to receive the great grace of perpetual plenary indulgence granted by Pope Pius X for anyone who prays the St. Louis de Monfort method/formula for Consecration. Why would you want to use a different method that circumvents such a grace?Use this book. It's beautiful, well-written, easy to read, easy to pray, doesn't contain exaggerations/misinterprations/or controversial writings. It is wonderful and you will love it! My friends and I tried a different book before I ordered this one and we couldn't stomach the other book. This book we loved and have since been joyously Consecrated to Jesus through Mary.God bless!

This is the book to get for Consecration
This is a 1000x better than the other popular Marian Consecration book. This one has prayers, scriptures and even mediation in it. I love it.

Good intermediate step for consecration
A priest recommended this to me, after hearing I'd worked through 33 Days to Morning Glory more than once and wanted more, but found St. Louis de Montfort's work tough to work through. This was a great intermediate step for reconsecration, and one I hope to return to in the future.

Deep and Rich
After completing Fr. Michael Gaitley's 33 to Morning Glory last year with our parish, my husband and I purchased this book to renew our consecration. It was recommended by a priest with a devotion to St. Louis de Montfort. It is powerful! We highly recommend it!

Arrived in good time & in excellent shape.
It’s a more up-to-date edition than mine.I bought it for someone else to use.Although nicely laid out, I prefer using my older, falling apart 1988 version.
