Great product, perfect choice
Just unpacked the laptop, and so far we're really happy with it. My teen loves how it moves from laptop to ipad mode seamlessly. The design of the keypad, camera, speakers etc are excellent quality and couldn't fault it. After a laptop from the famous 'A' brand, we're not disappointed with the change of loyalty!

Lightning quick setup
Sticking with Acer Chromebook as I found them good and reliable, this model has a 14" screen, the old one was 11.5" but the battery was not lasting after many years of use, transferring files, downloads, passwords, photos etc was remarkably quick and simple, one of the first things is to insert the wifi password of your router, it already knows the network name [SSID], then open the Chrome app and fill in the Google email address and password, [NOT the email address from your Service Provider. Virgin in my case], thats it, everything has moved to your new Chromebook. The only thing I miss is a touch-screen so I dont have the 'pinch' feature which was so handy to quickly enlarge itemsDepending on your plans for the old one you can safely Powerwash it back to factory conditionUnfortunately after just over a week it is showing faults, primarily the touchpad is failing to function correctly at times, either leaving the curser unmoving or suddenly jumping to the side of the screen, another thing is the excessive heat being created from the battery, I use this literally as a laptop and the heat is uncomfortable, it is being returned, sadly

Great product
I bought this to replace an android tablet that I had been using for a year, but then the touch screen went wrong with it. Amazon stepped in and refunded the cost of the tablet when it was returned and I had initially intended to go and buy an ipad instead. However, the cost of those is eyewatering and I then thought about the Chromebook spin. It can act like a tablet when folded back or a small laptop when in conventional mode. I found this 64GB version as a second hand deal with over £100 off the new price (which was already a special price deal, so in fact this second hand one was something like £150 off the regular new price). It has a few tiny marks on the case and did not come with the manual or in the original box, but the manual can be downloaded as a PDF and the marks are hardly noticeable, so I am more than happy to live with them for the savings. The chromebook has great battery life and for what I use it for, it is ideal. With the Chrome OS that is basically android OS, I managed to install a range of apps that I had used on the android tablet that went wrong. Oddly a couple of apps said they were not compatible, which I don't understand, since they did not need any particular hardware like GPS. I found alternative apps that worked though, so no biggie. Been using it several weeks now and I am very happy. The screen resolution is perhaps a little bit of a negative point since it is now particularly high. However, for what I need it is fine. At the price I paid, I don't really think I could have got something better. It certainly feels like a quality product and from a very well known maker. I have had Acer products before and was very happy with them.

Avoid at all costs!
Avoid at all costsBought my son this laptop for school and used the family link app (as he’s only 14) However he can’t get on the internet at school and it turns out this is a common problem for Chromebook laptops. 🤦🏼♀️I tried to reset it, but I can’t even reset the dam thing. Had to call up Google for help. Absolute waste of money. Most of the reviews below aren’t even relating to this laptop!

Love it.. on the whole
So this is my first new laptop in a while.. was used to the heavier Samsung 14" from years ago. The keyboard-touchscreen option is so useful. Lovely and light but doesn't feel feeble or fragile. The display is clear and sharp enough, the keypad nice to use and mousepad responsive, though obviously I don't have much experience of laptops this modern. I'd say it runs a little slower than I expected, tho I have been transferring a large volume of files. I'm massively struggling with the split screen, cannot get it to work despite using it easily on other computers. Maybe that's just me. The only think I'm mad about is that I cannot pin pictures/documents to the desktop. I am used to having a cluttered screen when on turning on my laptop.. with important files sitting readily available. I've done some googling for workarounds, but there arent any. The fact you can have apps but not individual files and folders on your main screen is infuriating. Apart from that I do love this laptop and it's genuinely great value for money.
