Kids loved them for a bug hunt

Just what I needed looks good ,

Suppliers of entomological equipment often charge too much for specimen containers. These are very good value for money. The inclusion of a (weakly) magnifying lid and and grid pattern imprinted on the base is quite innovative. I can see principal features on captured insects as the containers let in lots of light. I have withheld one star because these containers would be even more useful if a third larger. A Pale Prominent Moth was rapidly released when it was evident that it was too snug a fit and damaging its wingtips. On the other hand, they are perfect for most solitary bees and beetles. I also get itinerant horse flies off window ledges with them (my partner hates them). The lids do come off a bit too easily, losing the contents, unless handled carefully. I have got used to that but screw-on lids would be better. They come in individual plastic bags inside a larger plastic bag. Perhaps a bit too much packaging? I like them.

These were bought to be used by our Beaver scouts. The kids loved them, they were easy to use and gave great viewing of insects etc. They were just the right size for kids to handle easily.

When these arrived I was a bit surprised. They are very small. But for displaying small things to kids they are fine. The magnifyer is weak and basic but it works. The criss cross on the bottom is useful. Not suitable for live creatures - no air holes, but fine for dead beetles and bugs that you want little hands to pick up safely. Lots of them, so fair value for money, pretty thin plastic but it's OK. If you are going to use these alot I'd say they were adequate. If you want scientific pots and magnifiers you will have to pay a lot more!

Why did you choose this product over others?: These are great for bug hunting, especially with children. These are a good size to collect items, have a decent enough magnification, and so far none have been damaged.

Les boîtes sont en bon état et elles sont fonctionnelles.

Quantité mensongère. J’ai commandé 2 lots de 12 boîtes, l’un en avait 8 et l’autre 9. Soit 5 manquantes !!!
