didnt realise how bad budget radios could get
the ad makes a big thing about the IPS screen and how clear and great those viewing angles are. left to right seems ok ish but unless you install this pointing at your face in the up/down angle.. forget it. its nearly a blank screen. if the sun shines into your car.. its invisible as there is very little brightness . turning up brightness or contrast just washes the image to white. The ad says RDS. it does NOT have RDS.i cannot get a single one of my micro SD cards to be read.. i have 15 in different brands, specs and capacities. tried multiple formats. just doesnt see it.The reversing camera is NOT waterproof in my experience. one drive in the rain and theres water in it.Bluetooth works well.. pretty clear actually but occasionally theres a couple skipping issues with some tracks.. like it buffers for a sec or two. (using iphone 14 so i doubt its the phone... it works fine in my work vehicle.)Carplay is very hit or miss.. but EVERY play of music lags out a bit.. a couple jumps like a cd skipping. google maps on carplay works but remember that screen.... it works on cloudy dim days fine. dont put your roof down... the screen goes blank... youll end up just following audio cues.USB... just a joke. a trick completely missed here by the manufacturer.. there are 3 USBs. top front is for charging your phones only. bottom front is for carplay/android/mirrorlink/usb stick. Rear is ONLY FOR DASHCAM. really???????!? you HAVE to plug your phone in the front for carplay? why not have the rear one also compatible with your phone so you can leave a wire tucked out of the way ready to plug your phone into without a stupid wire permanently hanging out the front.?the fascia is VERY thick.. it will stick an extra 1/4 inch proud of the car dashboard so is NOT a slick look.the built in amplifier is basic and struggles with bigger speakers but most old cars have basic paper things that take very little to push them..microphone.. works fine.suppled steering wheel control.. dont bother.supplied IR control... when would you use it? the screen is so small you'll be next to it anyway.i bought this to replace another budget carplay stereo.. this one is being replaced too.

It's probably cheap for a reason.....
On the plus side it looks pretty smart and the radio works well but that's about as far as it goes. The unit is really slow and there can be a long wait when switching between apps, it will often freeze and even turning the thing off does not do the trick so you have to wait until you pull over and switch off the engine for it to reset.Carplay is intermittent at best, some days it works without a hitch and others it just refuses to stay connected to the phone, and I'm sure it knows as it always drops the connection when you are completely lost and relying on the sat nav to get you home!I think it's probably all down to cutting costs to the minimum with the build, if anyone has a really old tablet lying around that takes forever to catch up with what they want it to do they will know exactly what I mean.I could have been unlucky and got a bad unit, but for me I had to take it out of the car and pop the stock head unit back in so I cannot really recommend it .
