Great back up drive with a heavy duty chassis.

I purchased this Lacie D2 to provide external backup to a QNAP NAS. The read/write speeds are excellent for a single external HD no doubt large due to the fact that this unit has a 20 TB Seagate Ironwolf Pro HD. The Lacie d2 works perfectly, is quiet, and was an excellent choice for high capacity and high speed backup protection.

ChatGPTI bought two identical Lacie Pro drives from different sellers on Amazon. The first one had loose parts inside right out of the box, and the second one failed to mount after just four days. Despite returning the defective drive, I incurred a restocking fee of 18.14% of the total cost. It seems you're charged regardless of the product's condition. Furthermore, if you encounter defects after transferring important data to these large-capacity drives, data recovery can be exorbitantly costly. The price for data recovery doesn't scale with the amount of data used; they charge for scanning the full 20TB, escalating the expense. Additionally, I found no avenue to lodge a complaint with Amazon or challenge the company responsible. It's frustrating. This drive is heavy duty yet portable I transferred 17 TB from Seagate drive and after 35 hours all files transferred successfully. Like that it’s formatted ExFAT so compatible with both Mac and Pc platforms

Unit, less than 2 hours after delivery was DOA. No power, lights, nothing. Contacted Amazon for return info, they pushed be back to LaCie's customer service which was their parent company Seagate. Horrible experience with w/those jokers. Never again. Was a long time LaCie user/buyer, not anymore.

I don't get the raves about LaCie. I have purchased 2 droves. One was an older model, stopped reading on my computer after about 2 years. This one barely lasted a year. For what they cost, I should be able to use them much longer.

ES EL SEGUNDO (2) que compro y al tratar de instalar falla de nuevo, es muy extraño que una marca tan respetable como Lacie tenga tal cantidad de FALLAS !! El soporte técnico se limita simplemente a decir que haga la devolución pero no es mayor lo que puede resolver. NO COMPREN ESTE MODELO en especifico porque seguramente van a tener problemas !!.

Silencioso, rápido y elegante. Detalle, solo trae cable tipo c, necesite un adaptador usb a a tipo c.

I’ve been using this LaCie 20TB desktop drive for over a year now and it has been very reliable. It runs smoothly, transfers quickly, and plays back my media without any issues. Build quality feels solid, and it’s handled large video files with ease. From what I understand the unit comes with enterprise-grade drives, which should give it a long life. So far, so good, plenty of storage, dependable performance, and a good choice for creative professionals.

It's a good harddrive itself, but somehow I got a faulty one and had to send it back to seagate which is fine and they replaced it but that's the only reason for the 1 less star

Venía muy bien empacado. Lo tuve que devolver pues no se pudo encender. La devolución fue muy sencilla.

Excellent produit de Lacie C'est mon 4 ème d2 après un 6To un 10 To et un 14To. Juste une remarque pour les nouveaux utilisateurs. La première fois branchez votre disque directement sur la sortie USB de votre ordinateur et non via un hub afin qu il soit bien reconnu. Ensuite vous pourrez utiliser un hub USB si vous avez plusieurs branchements à faire sur votre ordi. Esthétique, Ne chauffe pas trop, relativement silencieux sur un bureau et j'en ai 4 qui tournent ensembles, Dommage que le gros voyant bleu ne peut être éteint, moi j'ai mis du scotch opaque pour l'oculter. Utiliser le logiciel Toolkit fourni par LaCie pour les mises à jour et le suivi facile et au top. Disque interne irréprochable, le meilleur dexce qu il se fait actuellement chez Seagate. C'est vrai qu'il est plus cher que les autres mais quelle qualité ! J'ai attendu une baisse de prix pour l'acheter.
