I have been leery of stop-leak products because they either dissolve the equipment's o-rings over time or plug up the cap-tube. The refrigeration shops have warnings about turning in stop-leak contaminated refrigerant for recycling. Spectroline Tech Support assured me their product caused none of the problems associated with these other stop-leak formulations. I tried it on a client's Amana side-by-side refrigerator with a leaking evaporator. I explained the risks to the client, but the $350 evap part price plus big labor cost convinced them to go with a Cool Seal test. It worked like a charm. Very happy customer. A word of caution - Spectroline told me this product works especially well with annoying smaller leaks, but will not plug a big leak. The above client's Amana frig lost its charge about every 4-6 months, so it was an ideal application.
