Great piece of hardware!
I wasn’t sure how this little pad was going to work. I am a paralegal and work from home. A new contract necessitated an additional laptop and the Lenovo was recommended. So far I am loving it. I can do all the things I do on my larger laptop. I LOVE how flat and light it is. Typing is very fluid. Haven’t had any issues so far!

So not worth it for the price.
Beautiful and powerful but don't pay this much money for it, there are other options on X1 5th Gen with 1440 monitor or prehab the 9th Gen are better on this price range.FYI, yes you can install Windows 11 Pro on a i7-7600U CPUDevice Name X1CarbonProcessor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7600U CPU @ 2.80GHz 2.90 GHzInstalled RAM 16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable)Device ID 25A182D7-4387-4F82-A877-xxxxxxxProduct ID 00330-50718-xxxxxxxxSystem type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processorPen and touch No pen or touch input is available for this displayEdition Windows 11 ProVersion 22H2Installed on 11/25/2022OS build 22623.1095Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22638.1000.0

Solid Laptop, but keys break often
Overall this is a fairly good laptop. However every month or two, a key on the keyboard breaks and I have to get a replacement key. Quality control clearly isn't doing a very good job, but otherwise it runs fairly smoothly.

piece of junk
I decided to buy a 'really good' laptop after years of making do with cheap laptops. Bought directly from Lenovo site. This was a significant investment for me. It has caused nothing but headaches. The Wifi doesn't work-the computer tech I took this to said internal wifi not working and gave me an external one. Constant glitches -shows I have wifi but doesn't work, extremely slow connection, frequent disconnects. Now, I would think it was me, or my wifi, except we have 3 inexpensive laptops (including a work one) that operate beautifully. I am so disgusted with this product. I noticed the positive reviews are pretty think on WHAT makes it great leading me to wonder who is giving these 5 star reviews? Even the computer tech who has contracts with local hospitals-that's how good he is-said that these Lenovo products aren't very good-break very easily and a lot of hassle to ship back and try to get anything fixed.

a near perfect laptop that balances power and portability very well.
I bought the X1C 5th Gen directly from Lenovo. This is a fantastic laptop. Previously, I used an X230 and X201. These laptops served me very well. However, I wanted a bit more screen real estate while also maintaining high portability and great battery life. I was a bit worried that the X1C would turn out to be too big for me. The X1C does have a slightly bigger footprint that the X230, however, the reduction in weight and thickness make it more portable and comfortable to handle. If you haven't handled an X1C or similar laptop you may be surprised at how thin it is. It's thinner than the pics convey. Just a touch thicker than a USB port. It's very light. When I first picked it up I couldn't believe they fit a 57W battery and all the internals in so light a laptop. After you use it for a bit, you'll find it has just enough weight to remind you that's a high-quality product. The black and rubbery shell delivers an impression of both quality and durability. Highly professional.the 1900 X 1000 screen is very sharp and clear. It's not the brightest screen, but regardless I keep it tuned down as I don't like bright screens. Fonts are very clear, colors look great. It's not 4K or anything near but works perfectly for me. The 14 inch screen is much more comfortable for work than the 12 inch screens I am used to. Really glad I upgraded size-wise.The machine runs cool most of the time and the fan rarely comes on. The keyboard is the best I've used, edging out the X201 ever so slightly (and I LOVED that Keyboard). Much better than the good X230 keyboard.Wifi connection is strong and reliable. Battery life is fantastic. I seem to be averaging right around 13 to 14 hours.I primarily use Linux. I know some X1C 5th gen users have had issues with the trackpad. No problems here. Two issues:- this thing attracts fingerprints like nothing I've ever seen.- Having both USB-C ports on both sides reduces their usefulness.Would love to see:A 16:9 screen isn't the best for productivity. Not tall enough. They could probably fit a 16:10 in this laptop and it'd be perfect/
