I bought this because I had one very similar to it from the same brand that broke after about 10 years.Hopefully this one lasts just as long. It seems to be just as good of quality

I bought this seeing a portable tripod I could take on the go and use it for some better stills. It works fine, I have a S23 Ultra and it surpasses the grip, meaning it would handle bigger. "It does the job with time". If you are brand new to the device it's going to take a second to get familiar, pretty straight forward. The time is because of the 3 legs and getting them situated to balance and focus on what you are looking at. I have gotten better as the time has gone by and don't use it much, probably in part due to finding that balance and focus in the instant it is needed. If you are going to catch an image that you can stage and get ready, which I have done, it works. Still in search if the perfect ultra/portable/reliable device.

Great!…for 6 weeks then one of the legs started giving away. The old rigid leg Joby was better and can’t find it.

Easy to use and the head swivels without being too loose. Love the flexible legs

I bought one of these many years ago and for the last couple years I’ve had to fight with it to get it to hold position with my iPhone attached. Then I noticed the articulating “beads” becoming loose due to stress cracking making the whole thing floppy. The old one would never fold “flat” (90°) like this new one does, so I was always forcing it into position to get it into my backpack, the force finally caused the cracking. Apparently the engineers at Joby figured this out and redesigned the articulation at the top so it now bends 90° at the top common joint. Out of the box this new one is tight, and folds perfectly! I hope this change makes this one the last one I need to purchase. Great redesign! The photos show the new one opened, folded and another showing the old one (minus the top common articulating bead because I couldn’t find it in the trash) next to the new one to show the comparable size. The new one is actually slightly smaller than the old design…bravo!

I have used a small Joby tripod for years - but recently an element on one of the legs cracked which allowed that ball section to move about freely - it had lost it's tension and would not hold position. This newer model has a different style head- There is no way to tighten or release the tension for positioning and repositioning. The ball is just fit into the top section very tightly. I guess the idea is that you can a(or should be able to) position the head by just twisting or turning it. In the case of the unit I got the ball was extremely tight. It required the use of pliers to get sufficient leverage to move the mount. This of course is totally unacceptable. I even tried WD-40 but that did not help either. Sent the item back within 15 minutes. I will be looking for a different small tripod. Unfortunately the one I had previously is not currently available and I suspect it is no longer being made. It was an Original Gorilla Pod by Joby 1235-CAM.. I purchased it in 2015! Obviously I got my money's worth. But very disappointed in this replacement model.
