Great tool

This shovel is smaller and lighter than the E-tool I had in the Army. However, the quality impressed me. I have used it backpacking and it is a great tool for digging a pit for campfires and cat holes. I didn't expect the sawing/chopping ability to be a any value, but it is well built and has been useful. The only thing I do not like is the compass is exposed on the end cap of the handle. Like all other compasses on these types of tools, it is cheap and unreliable. I bought it knowing that I would never use the compass. However, the fact that the compass is exposed on the end makes me feel like I will likely break it. The pouch is pretty sturdy and fastens with a belt loop. I would much prefer an alice, molle, or button attachment so I could attach it to the outside of my rucksack. Overall, it is a staple for my backpack now and I would definitely buy it again.

This is an edited review is for the 17" shovel. As far as the steel goes, it seems to be durable and strong. I've had my shovel since April of 2018 and have used it several times now camping and it does good job. The handle on mine seemed a little loose, but I fixed that by using some Teflon tape on the threads (see attached pic) and it does just fine now! Giving it 4 stars because the compass sticks. I took it out of the metal handle and keeping it level, made sure there wasn't any metal around and the needle just sticks. I have to tap it a few times before it points anywhere near north. EDIT: Raised to 5 stars! The seller contacted me just a few short hours after I wrote the review above. I was very impressed with the way they handled my issues with the shovel! Customer service is very important to me and they definitely proved to me they care. I do a LOT of camping and their store will be one of the first places I'll look in the future to see if I need any of their products. The compass issue was also resolved. EnjoyHall sent me a new compass and it works fine! Thank you EnjoyHall! 9/21/2020 Update: I've had and used this shovel now for nearly two years and it had become, hands-down, one of my favorite camping tools. I use this thing for nearly everything! I've even used it to dig out my Jeep Wrangler when it got stuck (yes, even as small as the shovel blade is, it worked wonderfully). It now stays in my Jeep and it goes everywhere I go. It is a great tool.

I recently bought this folding shovel for my Calandiva gardening, and it's been a fantastic tool. Its compact size makes it easy to store and carry, while its sturdy construction and sharp blade effortlessly handle soil work. The comfortable grip and versatile design, including a serrated edge and pickaxe feature, have made my gardening tasks a breeze. If you're a Calandiva gardener, I highly recommend this folding shovel for an enhanced gardening experience.

It looks great, has a seemingly high quality black oxide finish, and the threads are clean. Issues I have with the design are as follows: 1) it could be a defect, or a simple lack of QC, but the Shovel head and pick axe has a small angle on the faces in which the locking collar should interface. This causes the locking collar to sit at an angle, when in order to have a secure fit, the collar needs to sit square against the edges of said components. Two minutes on a bench grinder solves this problem, but it shouldn't have been there in the first place. 2) Depending on your shoveling technique, twisting the shovel may end up unscrewing, and thus loosening the handle of the shovel. This is annoying, to say the least. In sum, I would look for a more established design than this one, there are similar priced units out there which don't suffer from these types of flaws. It does have some pluses: the design and form factor allow a useful tool with a small packing volume, so you can literally put this thing anywhere and have a shovel should you need one. It has a durable black oxide finish as opposed to regular paint, so it should hold up for a while.

It came as described and it's very heavy and strong, it's not large but that's what I wanted for foraging in the woods.

Perfect for the price

La verdad no sabía que esperar por el precio, pero la realidad es que es una pala pequeña de emergencia y se siente muy bien, es plagable y trae un estuchito, incluso cuenta con brujula.

Tam istediğim gibi bir ürün

works as expected

For a folding shovel it definitely comes with its multiple uses and meets your needs just fine if you're used to a lot of outdoor work. It's also super sturdy, easy to move around and very easy to handle. Not disappointed at all.
