Mind Flayarrrs

This is my first pre-con deck as I only had a deck from back in Junior Yr (17) that was about 60 cards and all were gifted to me so I made due and had fun but now at 25 I’m back in the game with my friends at college and have over 200 cards now. I had no idea what “Commander” was but I love it! This is a tribal mill deck and you can swing it one way or the other but I made it a mill deck. As always, you okay with the deck as-is for a bit to figure out what you like and don’t like. It takes a minute to get going and there’s a lot of higher cost cards with the Horrors that come with the deck and work in tangent with the commander, so I had mana issues but found 35 with a couple fetch land cards makes it so I can get going much faster. This deck is very strong though and I found not much needed to be switched out to make it pretty scary to play against. I don’t use the tokens all that much though. If you want a fast paced mill deck I’d look a Rogues. A lot of low cost cards that are equally as low in Attack and Defence so it is much harder to mill a whole deck whereas I think this one does the task slower but better especially once you get Night Howler on the battlefield! I have a friend though where their deck needs to be attacked asap before they can get started and flatten you with enchantments and trample creature tokens, so I find Rogues are the way to go if that’s what your up against. By time this Horrors mill deck gets going it’s too late and the wall of insanely high powered creatures with trample squish me.TLDR; very strong precon but make sure to add more mana (about 35) with a few fetch lands since a lot of cards are high cost but do a lot of damage which causes the player to lose life and thus mill cards faster. I’ve won a few times by milling my opponents decks until there’s nothing left to play. I’d highly recommend this deck of you want a tribal mill deck!

Overall amazing! Played against my friends today with this deck and they got owned. Worth the money. Love foil detail. Cards have a nice sturdy feel to them and easy to follow.

I ordered this deck because I’ve played against it and know how much of a pain it is to go up against. It came in perfect condition until the mailman put it in the mailbox and I had to pull it out of the slot for mail and not packages. It squished the bottom a little bit but nothing too bad. At the time of writing this review, the deck list is valued at $128 and Amazon has it for $129. Dollar for dollar I think it’s a decent price and you can’t find it for less. I grabbed it just to have. Get it while you can!

This deck is great, especially for someone getting into commander. In my opinion, it is very powerful even against some stronger decks due to its mill mechanics. The deck comes with tokens, counters, a life wheel and a display commander. I am not sure what I will do with the display commander, but it is a nice addition.As far as the delivery goes, the item cam packaged well and was not damaged. I usually order my magic cards from a game company, but I was impressed with amazons packaging.

Milling and stealing is always fun in any game. But horrors do lack support. You better hope your opponents have a win condition you can steal because otherwise, it's uncertain how you'd win. Still, even if you lose you'll have so much fun doing it.UPDATE: Currently this item is selling for about $130. MTGGoldfish notes that all the cards can be bought individually for a total of $90 or so. And an upgraded version can be purchased for less than $100. Strongly recommend buying the singles instead of the sealed deck.

A really great deck out of the box with some great cards. Can be upgraded to be even more powerful.

Would recommend adjusting of course but this deck is great right out of the box
