A great and affordable lighted keyboard.
I bought the DBPower keyboard even though it only had one review. I had a Logitech G105 previously and wanted a replacement keyboard that is backlit. For the price, this was a good deal and I have been pleased with the keyboard. The back lighting has 3 colors and can be turned on and off. It is very easy to change it or turn it on or off with the button located lower on the right side. The keys sit high to allow the lighting to shine around the keys. I like that the keys sit high enough that you can clean around the keys easily. It takes some adjustment compared to my old keyboard but after a week and a half I have come to like it. This keyboard is minimal. It has almost no edges around the keys. It can fit in a small location for a 104 key keyboard.I really don't find myself using the FN key functions much but it does allow for sound control. It does work but I don't ever use that function but I did test it out.The cord is long enough and has a braided cord. I think that is to make it tangle less. I have mine run through my desk and I don't travel much. But it is a good feature. The Num lock, Caps and Win lock indicators are bright and easy to always see.If I have any complaint it would be that the backspace key is small. That's personal preference but coming from keyboards with double sized backspace keys I miss that.I am happy taking a chance on this keyboard. It has a good light system and feels great typing on it. At the price point, this is a great deal.

You get what you pay for
Thought I would opt for a cheap back-lit keyboard. Cheap...check....back-lit... check.... keyboard... check. Yep.. got what I paid for. The colors aren't uniform throughout the keyboard. The F8 key is stuck in the pressed down position. The "sticker?" over the CAPS, NUM and... W? lights was put on crooked. Keyboard works for the most part with no real issues.. I mean.. its not like I ever use the F8 key anyway. Not much difference between the blue and purple. And I dunno what it means by changing the back-lit mode... but FN + 1-9 keys do nothing. So.. unless this thing spazzes out on me within the first few weeks.. I guess $15 isn't a bad price. I think next time I will put a little more money in and buy a better one, but hey... you live and you learn.Edit: Aaaand, the shift keys don't work. So, I guess I am headed towards return central... ~yay~

Malfunctioning Right Out of the Box
I was searching for a keyboard with raised buttons instead of the laptop style flatter keys, and I also hoped to find lighted keys to make it easier to type in the dark. This keyboard seemed to cover both of those specifications for a decent price, so I ordered it. As soon as I took it from the box I noticed the F9 button was flat to the board instead of raised like the others. It was difficult to press down, but it seemed to be functional. Honestly, I don't use the button, so I was willing to overlook it.Set up was insanely easy, and I really liked the durability of the braided cord. The lights looked cool, but I realized they were more decorative than anything. It wasn't a huge problem, and it wasn't a deal breaker. I tried making a few posts on social media to get the feel of the keyboard, and immediately I noticed the Shift buttons were both not always engaging. I thought maybe it would be better once I was actually typing. I opened up a fresh document and started typing, and less than a full page of text in I knew I had to return the keyboard. Not only did both Shift buttons work only when they wanted to, the U button barely worked and the enter button rarely functioned. The enter button on the number pad was functional, but it is not optimal to use while typing text. I am not sure if my keyboard was defective or if all of them work this way, but I have noticed other reviewers complain about non-functioning Shift keys. I can't speak as to how it functions for gaming purposes. I never got that far with it.

Quality at a Bargain
I write this from a Linux perspective. This is a basic 104 key keyboard, minus the right click key mate for the Windows key. In addition, there are various tasks silkscreened onto the function keys. You access these with a function key located where the right click key should have been. I don't know if the keys automatically do what they say they do in Windows. They certainly don't under Linux. Fn-F10 is supposed to launch Internet Explorer. It doesn't normally do that under Linux. That said, Linux allows for considerable flexibility when programing your keyboard. You can do things the geek way, or the simple way. I used the XFCE desktop keyboard shortcut tool to run, play, pause, and skip (forwards and backwards) on my media player (Audacious). The Internet Explorer key launches Firefox. Amixer, pacmd, or pactl handle all the volume functions. The keyboard glows red, blue, or purple. It's easy enough to change colors and adjust the brightness. More impressive is the overall impression the keyboard gives. The touch is fairly heavy. There's a bit of clackiness when typing. The touch itself is significantly heavier than your typical, cheap keyboard. The heaviness extends to the actual, overall weight. Pound on this one, and it won't go anywhere. Yes, you can type on this one. Nice.

Well, I have enjoyed the purple lights. That being said, they are a novelty, not something you can type by, meaning that the keys are backlit so unless you can type without looking, you cannot see what the keys are. Not a big deal for me, I just liked the color. Purple pretty. What is a huge deal breaker though is the fact that the space key is so hard to get to register that it’s been hit. Omg, God forbid you type a sentence and not look at the screen. Odds are good you’ve just typed one huge long word with zero spaces. Seems you have to hit the space bar perfectly in the center with extreme prejudice. *heavy sigh* I’m buying a new keyboard. Bye lil purple lights.
