Great tool
Love this tool, but do consider the application before purchase. If you are curious about the 500 vs 700, my opinion is the 500 is better suited for cabinet work and the 700 is better suited for large furniture work. The 500 will center on stock from 1/2" to 1-1/4" which is great for cabinet and trim work. The 700 will center on stock from 7/8" to 1-1/2" making it more suited for tables and doors. Using the cutter adapter will allow you to install all the way down to the 4mm cutter, but it is difficult to use on 3/4" and smaller stock. It also seems that when using the smaller cutters on the 700 the mortises feel a bit sloppier than normal. My guess is the cutter adapter gains a bit of wobble.

Festools are excellent tools
My wife brought me this for Christmas and it works flawlessly they are a bit pricey as far as tools go but it seems to have far more power than similar tool of other brands and the tool seem to be thoughtfully designed the only bad thing is now my wife comes up with projects she wants me to build lol
