Very happy overall. I am using a 6Ah battery because it is what I have. If I used it more I would buy a 5. I have not tried it with a small pack. I had no trouble getting the rusty suspension on my truck apart. Lower control arms are 190 ft/lb from the factory and it had no trouble. I didn’t want the heavy weight and thus does everything I will ever need. I would say it is a good medium to heavy 1/2”. I am an old guy with a bad elbow and I had no trouble using it for a few days doing all new suspension on my Jeep Gladiator

Been using DEWALT battery tools over 20 years, they don’t disappoint. Plenty of power for the average mechanic / small farm. Use the 1/2” 1200lb and 3/4 beast at work, both excellent tools. How did we ever survive without battery tools….

This tool is a beast! I did not realize how much torque these tools provide until I borrowed one from a friend. I thought I was doing fine with my "brand R" power tools, but the DeWalt is in another level when it comes to power. Finally, in my lifetime, some one has created a battery power impact wrench that can break loose lug nuts on car wheels. No more need for air compressors and hoses now that I have this hand held beauty. This wrench is not any heavier than my air wrenches, has excellent grips, and is compact enough to access the fasteners I need to reach. It is a bit pricey, but I am happy with the value this tool delivers. DeWalt makes another model with even greater torque for things like shock tower bolts and the like, but this unit does everything I need it for. Additionally, this wrench has different torque settings for different jobs, so it is flexible in application.

When I first started working on vehicles I had a standard 1/2 impact that I used. After running in to come issues with bolts I found out this is the one I wanted. This should be a must have for anyone wrenching under their car. After looking around the cheapest I found it was here and that’s even looking at private sellers. I’ve always bought dewalt and never been disappointed in the quality or life. This does get a bit heavy in awkward situations but is still worth a little had crap to get that pesky nut or bolt!

What a turd. I used this impact about 10 times in a non industrial capacity, over maybe 4 or 5 months, then it broke. With a fresh charge on a new battery, it will sometimes rotate 1 revolution then stop. I can change the settings from 1,2,3 with the buttons. It just won’t tighten anything down. Very disappointed. This tool costs too much to have it fail that quick.

On sale so could not resist. Arrived in record time as usual. Took advantage of the 3 payment option. Used it right away on a lawnmower flywheel bolt. Did the job. Have yet to use it for tire changes, which is why I bought it. Have now had a chance to use it for tire changes. Worked like a charm, no trouble taking off wheel nuts. Very Happy with the product. No issues with detent pin style, no difficulty in removing sockets. Update: With very limited use (annual snow tire changes), the tool consistently stops working after only two seconds. It will make one attempt at hammer function and quit. wait 5 seconds, and it will again hammer and quit. I am going to check out a few warranty repair places. My first Dewalt tool that has crapped. I will update as I get to the bottom of this .
