I live on a tropical island below the equator and the sun is brutal. I needed something to keep my head and neck cool on my runs. This fit the bill (pardon the pun), easy on the wallet and not overly dorky looking. The flaps are just the right size. I like how you can tuck the flaps inside the hat.I have washed this at least 5 times and the bill is still in good shape.

Saved my burning neck! Fits great. Holds its' shape. Not 5 only because the fabric doesn't breathe... it's hot inside that tent on a zero breeze day. Will buy it again.

Hat arrived on time and in good condition. It is well made for the price and unlike removable neck flap hats does not leave the back of the head exposed. Have only used once but it provides good protection is light and breaths. I highly recommend for those who are going to be out in the sun for long periods - especially those who burn easily.

The size of the hat is ample; I have a large head and yet I still had to use the drawstring to tighten it. The curtain is a good length and covers the base of my neck. The side curtains, though, are very ineffective for me. I walk for exercise and the sides are like dumbo ear flaps that flow back and expose my ears and the side of my face. The hat would be good for a gardener or maybe a fisherman, assuming they keep their head down most of the time, but it is terrible for a runner or biker. I hacked it by sewing a button snap on the lower ends of the flaps to connect under my chin . This does the job, but I live in Florida so it is not really comfortable if the weather is hot, especially since the material of the hat is heavier and thicker than a sheer nylon cap. It is well-constructed-- just not designed well given the stated purpose in the ad.

My husband and his crew work outdoors during hot Texas summers. One of the riding lawnmowers spews added exhaust heat that "cooks" their neck. I purchased these hats to see if it would help. Not only did it help for that situation, but they were using them all day for other landscaping and outdoor jobs. They particularly liked the "cap" style.

Good, long neck-and-face curtain (or flap); easy-to-adjust headband strap. It is only lacking a simple closure across the front of the flap. I prefer a button & buttonhole, but a sturdy snap would be okay. I bought this item to replace an ExOfficio(R) BugsAway(R) runner's cap-with-neck-curtain that I bought four years ago to protect my neck and face while working (not running) outdoors during the hot and humid Virginia summers. I wore it so much that the neck curtain disintegrated from dry-rot, and the headband drawstring would not hold. Of course, as always happens with a really good product, it is no longer available in the configuration that I found (by accident) in 2013. It seems to be a quality product for a good price.

Purchased 3 for various members of the family. Fits well from young child up to adult with large head (over 34in). Sizing is adjustable; fabric lightweight. Folds easily for packing. Fits and looks good on head. Flaps need to hang down; it's too bulky sitting up inside the cap. Some have mentioned the fabric smells odd; I hope this goes away after washing.Would purchase again as long as the fabric smells doesn't stay.

Great hat for fishing and the price is great too Does the job in the Florida heat and sun! Would buy again!
