A Perfect Blend of Classic Design and Modern Performance!
I’ve been using the Audio-Technica LP120XUSB for a few weeks now, and I’m thoroughly impressed. The build quality is excellent — it feels solid, well-engineered, and much more premium than most turntables in its price range. The tonearm, buttons, and platter have a satisfying heft that gives real confidence in its durability. The sound quality is equally outstanding. When paired with a good amplifier and speakers, it delivers a clean, warm, and detailed sound that truly brings vinyl records to life. The separation of instruments, clarity in vocals, and smooth bass response are all remarkable. You can really feel the analog warmth that vinyl lovers crave. I also appreciate the USB output, which makes it easy to digitize my records without compromising quality — a thoughtful addition that bridges vintage charm with modern convenience. The direct drive motor ensures consistent speed and quick start-up, while the adjustable tonearm and detachable headshell make fine-tuning and cartridge upgrades simple. Overall, the LP120XUSB is an exceptional value for both beginners and audiophiles. It looks professional, performs beautifully, and feels built to last. If you want a reliable, great-sounding turntable that respects the vinyl tradition while embracing digital flexibility, this one’s a winner!

Product Review: Audio-Technica AT-LP120 Turntable ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5)
Why did you pick this product vs others?: As a vinyl aficionado, I've owned many turntables over the years, and the Audio-Technica AT-LP120 is one of the best devices I've used, with performance, durability and value. After taking the turntable out of the box, you can already tell that it is a well-made product. The direct-drive motor is powerful and reliable, starts quickly and runs on constant speed whether your playing 33⅓, 45 or 78 RPM records. The tonearm is smooth and reacts well, and the included Audio Technica cartridge (AT-VM95E or equivalent) delivers a warm and rich sound with great clarity and low surface noise. A huge plus for me is the USB output that makes it super easy to digitize your vinyl collection. The included software is easy to navigate and the quality of the digitized transfers are excellent. In addition, the built-in phono preamp is a game changer! You are able to run the turntable to powered speakers or amplifier without the necessity of a separate preamp which is nice for first time listeners and those with a few decades of listening behind them. From a design perspective, the LP120 has a classic DJ-style design with a contemporary polish. The strobo platter, adjustable pitch control, and solid aluminum construction certainly give the AT-LP120, a real professional feel without the intimidation of using it at home. Pros: • Great sound quality • USB out for transferring vinyl to digital • Built-in phono preamp • Sturdy durable construction • Great value for the price Cons: • Heavy, not portable at all • Takes a few minutes to set up for new users Audio-Technica AT-LP120 is an amazing turntable you can use at an entry-level and receive high-fidelity audio and other interesting aspects without spending too much money. I would definitely consider it for users at these levels from someone who may be new to vinyl or upgrading from a starter turntable.

Perfect starter turntable
Almost a month of using this turntable, and it has my heart. An easy setup experience, good aesthetic appeal and great sound quality make it a whole package. Can definitely be considered for someone like me who wanted a good starter turntable.

Good entry level turntable
Good product... Built quality could be more rugged. A stylus arm clip would have been appreciated. Overall nice

The Best Value for Money Direct Drive Turntable Currently Available In The Market Today
An excellent turntable for the money and probably the best value for money Direct Drive Turntable around at the moment. The weighted, S-Shaped Tonearm is well-built and the AT-VM95E Cartridge supports multiple stylus types including Micro-Line, Shibata and Special Line Contact styli, making for an affordable and easy future sonic upgrade path with minimal fuss. The supplied Elliptical Stylus ensures good audio quality out of the box.

Really good and easy to use!
I am thoroughly satasfied with this player, this is my 2nd player my first one was a Philips GA242 fr the 70s that belonged to my grandpa. The 60x sounds phenomenonal with excellent clarity! It truly feels like an upgrade to me even though one may say it's entry-level! I use an external phone preamp even though this has a built in one !! The sound is great on built in preamp too but it really opens up on.sn external preamp! Even though I was used to the philps turnatabywhich was manual having an automatic is really a refreshing change one of the greatest advantages I would say is that the arm lifts and goes back once the record is over ! This really saves the needle in the long run. The shape and size is something that iike as it doesn't take too much place on my desk !! I enjoy both my players but the LP60x is truly brilliant and I absolutely love the sound it produces! Have provided an image of my Philips turnatable for folks to gauge the size difference! Both Turntabls use the exact same speakers and preamp!

An awesome starter kit for you to explore vinyl
Looks neat, plays so beautifuly..for a first time user, had some hits and misses, setting it up..but there's enough youtube content to guide you through every step..I had missed aligned the stylus and had issues with playback, once I saw YouTube tutorial on how tonplace the needle properly, it was awesome..old world charm that's still relevant

£300 seems very little for this LP5X. IMHO this is not only the best looking turntable at upto £380, i feel its also the best built and best performing. At the £300 usual price its a downright steal. It comes well boxed with everything needed to get going. Ok, so the cheapo switch mode power supply is a wall wart, but its soooo much better to have this away from the deck rather than inside it. It keeps what would invariably be adding a layer of noise into playback (if fitted internally like the previous LP5) away from the sensitive areas. As an added bonus, 12volt/2 amp linear power supply upgrades should improve the deck further should anyone wish to try. I just might even if it would be easy to spend half the turntables cost on one. The arm is of decent quality with no perceptable nastiness in the bearing but its built to price. It will more than do the job for MM's upto the cost of the deck itself and maybe beyond. The plinth is plasticky and flimsy and this is where the costs have been cut. You can hear the whole chassic move if you press on the plinth and theres alot of acoustic feedback. Solution? Dont press on the plinth while playing records. Like every single other turntable then!?!? Speaking of the pickup.... the VM95 range is THE bargain of the MM pickup world today. Even the £20 conical sounds good, tracks pretty well and doesnt collapse badly on inners and heavy modulations/dynamics. The E that comes fitted is not much better than the C. The EN is MUCH more like it and a no brainer. The ML tip is very clean, very clear, long lasting and quiet in all grooves but... the SH is better. It offers all that while adding body to the bass, harmonics in the mid range and less attention in the treble. The VM95SH is for the money.... UNTOUCHABLE. And it is a 10 second unclick and click upgrade of huge proportions. Back to the deck... the platter is machined better than those on the £800 Technics SL-100 and the £4K Technics SL1200G. Why? It doesnt wobble. Its actually flat. From 3m away i cant see it spinning. This is something that instills confidence. The mat is a chunky and heavy rubber affair. It does a good job but again is an obvious candidate for an upgrade. The speed control is bob on out the box. I dont care for measurements when records can be off center and warped but i perceive no wow/flutter with well pressed LPs. This is as pitch stable as any turntable needs to be for me to not need more. While subjective, i really like the look of the deck. The DJ style decks are an eyesore imo and the lights and controls are going to hurt the sound.... in Hifi, SIMPLEST IS BEST. This deck is simple in execution and purposeful in appearance. It has that reassuring look to it but without the frilly waste and without being light and confidence crushing. I had a ProJect Debut Pro for a while which had a really nice arm (which i had to repair on arrival!), but the whole thing just felt weak and frail, it hummed like a bird and it forced an Ortofon 2M red on me which almost put me off vinyl for life. Sound quality wise the pitch stability of the LP5X means you wont get distracted with pitchy/phasey sounding music unless the pressing suffers it by default. The bass is chunky... deep and solid and on point. A DD selling point as always. The mids are smooth and relaxed and integrate well with the bass. The treble and presence with the stock 95E are OK... this is the reason to swap to EN, ML or ideally SH asap! Soundstaging is the weakest point, everything plays within the speakers. This is mostly a failing of the 95E but DD tables dont tend to open fully out. Their strength is solidity and focus rather than panoramic fluidity. At this budget...you pays yer money you takes yer choice! So, it sounds good out the box with plenty of upgrade scope with the PSU, platter mat and stylus/cart and perhaps even the feet. But all the goodness that it offers out the box was also just through the built in phono with my own Audioquest cables and no ground wire fitted (no hum at all btw). When i bypassed the built in phono stage and for a laugh connected to my all tube phono stage (at 5x the decks cost) the sound exploded in dimensionality and tonality and has left me dumfounded. Honestly this deck is so good out the box i cant wait to mod it and im definately going to buy a second one and mod it too so i can do easy pressing comparisons! My main deck will always be my 1972 Pioneer PL51 DD which cost more than this 53 years ago but the performance of the LP5X is more or less just as good even if its nothing like as well built/engineered. Highly recommended then!
