Really not much to say about this: it works! Some years ago, I bought a 3040T CNC engraver/mill that had an incredibly dumb parallel-port interface controller. I have lots of old PCs, but it was pretty difficult to find one that could run a modern-enough version of the Linux software for driving the CNC and still have a simple enough processor for stable real-time behavior in stepping the motors. With this controller, all I need is a USB port and the stepping is precisely timed within this card. In fact, the step rate inconsistency used to be the primary limit on how fast this CNC could mill; the new card is at least an order of magnitude faster with perfect consistency. Incidentally, a few years ago I had purchased something similar, but I never got that to work because of firmware incompatibilities. This one works with no more configuration grief than one would expect. Be warned that it still takes a little configuration to do things like make sure the X, Y, and Z steppers have the right step size and direction, but it took no more than a few hours before it was working controlled via USB using software newly installed on a laptop.

The product has no documentation whatsoever . The supplied disk that came with the product was cracked had scratches and was unreadable. Whether or not The card would have worked I don’t know.

For the price it works great i did blow one of the outputs getting the pwm signal converted to a 0-10 volt signal for the Laser Power and had to buy another one but that was my fault not the boards fault. Fyi the MPG does not work as expected on either board but its cheap and i would not use in an industrial sitting anyway.
