Autopsy

This is Region Free but in European PAL Format. I have a cheap dvd player that plays pretty much anything like mp3 cds and video cds and other odds and ends and it plays fine, and on my computer (Mac). However my more expensive Blu-ray player will not. The interview disc was very informative, however it is in (Swiss ?) but there are subtitles. In my ignorance I always thought they were German but they are Swiss. Lots of interviews with bands of the time period and bands of today including Mikael Akerfeldt from Opeth. I also did not know the guitarist is the driver of the band, I always thought it was the drummer he was the unofficial Spokesman at the time. Gives a great history of the band including the manager of Noise Records at the time, I pretty much liked every band they recorded. Including what they did after break-up then the reunion to current day. Live video is good not one concert but all over. Includes Thrashing east live a performance from back in the day which I always passed up now I have a copy on dvd instead of VHS, and all their videos. includes a best of cd more of a fan favorite playlist instead of casual listener greatest hits. I would recommend and good price. Box is kinda cheap but what do you expect, kinda what you see in 50 movies for five bucks kinda deal but( disc stops) instead of envelopes.

I want to clear up the confusion about this Coroner Autopsy set (with the tri-lobe skull on the cover) as the description and reviews are all mixed up. This is a FOUR DISC SET of Coroner the Swiss Metal band, NOT the TV show or film of the same name. It has THREE DVD's and ONE music CD, NOT one music CD. GREAT deal for $20. Note that the DVD's will NOT play on most USA DVD players, you can get free/cheap software and watch on your computer though. The DVD's contain and excellent in depth documentary about the band and other cool stuff. Coroner's music is often called "Progressive Thrash", close enough I guess, or just Prog Metal. They're a little smarter than many Metal bands and have cool trippy lyrics. I suggest the albums Mental Vortex and Grin, though some prefer the earlier Thrashier albums. Buy this set and support this excellent band that never got the recognition they deserved.

Excellent release from this legendary band, a must have for any fan of Coroner, excellent production value and great footage and sound from more recent concerts. The doc is pretty cool too, and to the reviewrs who said the dvd's won't play on U.S. dvd players, whatev, I have a crappy dvd player from megalomart and it played just like any other dvd's I have.

Espectacular, first the band is awesome and to have the oportunity to see the documentary and understand their history in their own words is amazing. Second, the concerts and the audio quality are very good. Recomended

One of the best metal bands of all time. Good to see them getting more attention. This is a nice little "best of" package.

first of europe may love it but here who can view the reunion ,the history in video's or the film they included it's PAL, the cd is good and the price if everything was able to be viewed would be great but $20 for 8 songs, Damn.this collection should have had a cd of the reunion show! but that's not there either, I would like to have gotten everything listed was watchable but it's not, only the cd is great for me but hopefully later down the line we could see the concerts and all.

$108? Seriously? Kiss my butt!!

Il prodotto è arrivato in anticipo, perfettamente imballato. Detto questo, i tre DVD riguardano La Reunion, vecchi concerto molto apprezzato e un documentario d’indubbio valore. L’unica pecca è che non esistono sottotitoli in italiano, solo in tedesco e in inglese. In alcuni passaggi, addirittura non sono presenti i sottotitoli. Per quanto riguarda il cd è una breve compilation di brani già esistenti. Senza rarità o nuove versioni degli stessi. Indipendentemente da tutto, i due DVD riguardanti i concerti sono veramente golosi è solo per questo giustificano l’acquisto!

CORONER - "Autopsy" (2016)CORONER sind eine der unterbewertetsten Bands der Musikgeschichte, musikalisch waren sie ihren Kollegen meilenweit voraus und haushoch überlegen. Sie waren ungemein innovativ und kreativ, musikalisch von einer Präzision, die ihresgleichen suchte.CORONER spielten das was man allgemein als "Technical Thrash" bezeichnete, weil sie eben musikalisch gesehen perfekt waren, wenn man sich nur mal anhört, was TOMMY VETTERLI mit seiner Gitarre veranstaltet, dann klappt einem der Kiefer runter. Aber auch Schlagzeuger MARKY EDELMANN und Bassist und Sänger RON BRODER sind bärenstarke Musiker, CORONER funktionieren als Gruppe perfekt, das harmonierte hörbar.In ihrer kurzen Karriere haben sie es immerhin auf fünf Studioalben gebracht, von denen die ersten vier zum Besten gehört, was der Thrash-Metal jemals hervorgebracht hat. Der fünfte Output "Grin", ist ein Beweis dafür, wie innovativ und kreativ die Band war, wer mehr über diese Alben erfahren will, der kann meine Rezensionen dazu lesen, denn darauf möchte ich an dieser Stelle nicht näher eingehen.Denn hier geht es um das Box-Set "Autopsy", das aus drei DVD und einer CD besteht und Material enthält, dass nach der Reunion 2011 entstanden ist. Offizielle haben sich CORONER 1995 aufgelöst und in alle Winde zerstreut, sich wie MARKY EDELMANN und RON BRODER zurückgezogen, oder wie TOMMY VETTERLI anderen Bands angeschlossen. VETTERLI spielte beispielsweise ein paar Jahre bei KREATOR, bis er sich auch zurückzog und als Musikproduzent arbeitete.2010 traf sich die Band dann wieder im Proberaum und ab 2011 spielten sie dann wieder auf ausgewählten Festivals, 2012 sogar in Wacken. Das alles ging ungefähr bis 2014, dann stieg MARKY EDELMANN endgültig aus, TOMMY VETTERLI und RON BRODER wollten zwar mit neuem Schlagzeuger weitermachen, doch irgendwie wurde da nichts draus.Wie auch immer, dieses Box-Set deckt den Zeitraum zwischen 2011 und 2014 ab, am interessantesten finde ich aber DVD 1, die den Titel "Rewind" trägt. Diese geht ungefähr 2 Stunden und enthält Interviews mit der Band, Weggefährten, Freunden und Kollegen. Das finde ich super interessant, vor allem weil deutlich wird, welchen Stellenwert die bei den Kollegen hatten und wie wichtig sie für die Thrash-Szene eigentlich waren. Da kommen TOM ANGELRIPPER (Sodom), MAX CAVALERA (Sepultura) sowie TOM G. WARRIOR und MARTIN AIN von CELTIC FROST zu Wort. TOM G. WARRIOR gibt unumwunden zu, dass CORONER besser waren als seine eigene band und sie gerne so gespielt hätten wie diese. Auch ANGELRIPPER gesteht, dass CORONER seiner Band SODOM musikalisch haushoch überlegen gewesen ist. CHRIS VON ROHR (Krokus) kommt ebenso zu Wort, wie STEPHAN EICHNER, mit dem VETTERLI ein paar Jahre tourte.Auf jeden Fall ist diese DVD sehr interessant und informativ, die kann ich unbedingt empfehlen.Auf DVD 2, die sich "Reunion" nennt, sind dann Aufzeichnungen verschiedener Gigs aus den Jahren 2011 bis 2014 zu sehen, auch da ist schön zu erkennen, wie gut die eigentlich waren. Die spielten live besser und präziser als manch andere Band im Studio ... ohne Witz!DVD 3 ist dann ein Mittschnitt des "Thrashing-East-Festival" vom 4. März 1990 in Berlin, wo CORONER als Opener dabei waren. Auch hier ist erkennbar, wie gut die Schweizer waren, zwar waren sie jetzt nicht gerade die besten Perfomer, aber musikalisch sind die gigantisch gewesen. Dazu gibt's dann noch ein paar Music-Videos, abgerundet wird das mit Disc 4, einer Art Best-of-CD, die 8 der besten Songs der Band beinhaltet.Mein Fazit: Wer sich zur Fangemeinde von CORONER zählt, gerne mehr über die Band erfahren will oder sich einen Eindruck von den Live-Qualitäten der Schweizer verschaffen möchte, der ist hier bestens aufgehoben.Die Interviews und das "Kamingespräch" mit der Band sind äußerst informativ und interessant, da erfährt man wirklich viel über den Hintergrund der Band. Auch wird klar, welchen Stellenwert die eigentlich hatten, umso unverständlicher, dass die beim Publikum nicht so angekommen sind.Die DVDs sind in ordentlicher Qualität, das sind keine Hochglanzproduktionen, mich hat das aber nicht gestört, das hat irgendwie Charme. Ich bin zufrieden und kann das Set ohne Bedenken empfehlen .... gelungene und tolle Sache!

Excellent documentary disc; highly recommended for fans of this amazing band. Surprised me with the amount of footage from back in the day and the great array of modern interviews too. It does real justice to the Coroner story, providing genuine insight to their talent and influence. On the music disc it may have been good to include something not on the regular albums (e.g. Arrogance In Uniform), but no real complaints - overall worth getting this primarily for the Rewind documentary and the Berlin and Reunion footage.

Excelente material de la banda suiza. Este grupo desapareció unos cuantos (muchos) años y luego reapareció sorpresivamente. Quienes lo seguimos apreciamos muchísimo la publicación de este material, como algo sumamente exótico y valioso. Altamente recomendado.
