A cheap and bomber upgrade for your old standby m-12 holster
I wanted to have a faster strap for my m-12 holster. Very simple install and works good , if a tad loose on Glock 20. Am currently using it in tandem with the original flap top. This is going to prove extra secure and provide excellent retention, as I sometimes am crawling around in a local canyon with stream crossings and high angle situations. With practice this will work great for casual field excursions and even professionals operating in hostile environs.

Makes the UM84 relevant again
Let's face it- flap holsters are slow and they suck for all purposes besides keeping crap out of your holster. The M12 is a sturdy, universal holster you can get surplus for $20. Add this snap and you turn a surplus relic into a bomb-proof, reasonably fast, awesome holster that works with everything from a Makarov to a Glock 34.

This was a great piece compared to the original fabric cover that came with the holster. This allows for a quicker draw and it holds the pistol in rather well. It doesn't bunch up like the fabric cover when the hammer is cocked back. The only problem I have found is that it's a pain trying to resnap it when you put your pistol back. But hey you're buying this for a quick darw.

Good retention of a pistol without the flap
Replaces the flap on a Blanche UM 84 or 92 holster making it easier to draw a pistol using just one hand.

It Fits But Still Might Not Work
This units on my Hill Country M12 just fine. Installation took a few tries to get right (it's pretty easy to install it backwards or upside down), but it went on without any real effort. And it snaps and unsnaps. But... The M12 used with this thumbsnap system is a universal holster. Most large service automatics will fit in the holster. The US Army uses the Beretta 92 (called the M9 in military circles). The M1911 will also fit as will the Browning Hipower. However with both my 1911 and my hipower, this thumbsnap will not adequately secure the gun in the holster. I can draw both my 1911 and my hipower out of my M12 without unsnapping this thumbbreak because of the roominess of the holster and the potential movement of the thumbsnap's strap. It did not matter if the guns were holstered hammer down or cocked and locked. This isn't a problem with this one part vendor. Amazon did a great job and I received a Bianchi M1415 not some third party vendor. It is made properly. The problem is with the M1415 on the M12 system using a 1911 or hipower. Depending on what firearm you want to use with the M12 holster, this might not provide adequate retention. It didn't for me. Perhaps with the larger trigger guard shield on the Bianchi UM84 or a different handgun, this might still work for you.

Very good, but Bianchi still can improve it
This thumb snap adapter for the UM Bianchi holsters is great. It beats using just the flap cover, and if you want you can use both of them together for additional retention with good coverage. The only downside is that the thumb snap flops around, making resecuring the strap a bit tricky. If Bianchi would offer this in a stiffer material, I believe this wouldn't be a problem.

was easy to install
This thumbsnap works, was easy to install, and can be used with the full flap holster cover. While not exactly conducive to a fast release, it does provide added security, and makes a good addition to the Bianchi holster line. I don't believe it will work with their revolver holster, though.

Useful Device
can replace top flap with thumb-break straps if the size of the pistol allows. In some cases, user can take some 1" wide webbing, appropriate snaps/setting tool, and construct a replacement section of the strap system. You'll be replacing the strap that does NOT have the molded-in plastic thumb-break paddle. Use original section of webbing as an example, just make the length of new strap to suit your application.

It works, mostly, but it is a very poorly designed addition to the m12. Unnecessarily difficult to snap closed, not an improvement over the flap. Edit: With the drop leg attachment this improves dramatically. No idea why it seems to work better but it does. Would only recommend in conjunction with the drop leg addon for the m12
