IPS 83687 2-Inch Flush Mechanical Cleanout Repair Plug

This device was recommended to me by a gentleman in the lava lamp sub-Reddit and an easy way to reseal my grande lava lamp after filtering. The device fits perfecting in the mouth of the globe. I did initially have a little trouble getting it to seal. I left it on top of the lamp for a little while it was cooling down and after a bit, it all came together. Perfect seal. The device comes with its own Allen wrench. You’ll need to keep that. Mine fell behind a shelf and went to Narnia, so I had order another which turned out to be longer and easier to use. I like this device and will be purchasing another for my next Grande lamp.

Same as another reviewer, I purchased this to seal a Grande Lava Lamp. Fit the cap like it was made for the purpose.

Does not fit inside a 2” pipe……. Might fit in a coupling.

Had to lube the ring up to git it installed into my shop sink drain line, the plumbers didn't do as I asked and lower the clean out down to where the concrete surface would be, I showed how far up we were going to have it poured. (Down here in Tx, contractors Never Listen to who pays the bill!) Therefore, I cut the to high (Trip Hazard) - as close to flush as I could get with the slab (the clean outs were in a walk way area and also where I was going to store my large gas grill - Hence the Flush height requirement) - and the reason for this type of plug, (No Hub to screw a Brass Plug Into)! I had to cut both - the 4" & 2" Hubs Off! Pay $$ to "Professionals" and throw it away because of Arrogance! I do recommend this if you can't use a hub!

The product name should NOT be "2-Inch". The product will ONLY fit 2.25 inch pipes. It will not fit in a 2" ID pipe. This isn't a one-off manufacturing flaw, nor did they send me the wrong item. Buried deep in the docs it says it won't fit unless the pipe ID is 2.25"... so why call it a 2" fitting? The locking mechanism itself works great, but it isn't for 2" pipes.

I needed this to seal a floor drain where there is lots of foot traffic. Mechanism works perfect for quick removal and installation when the need arises.

Perfect fit for the drain in our basement floor. Easy installation. Had to replace an old brass fitting that was stuck. Seems to be very secure.

Perfect for sealing a Grande Lava Lamp! Be sure to put it in when hot and let it cool down otherwise will pop out :)
