I've 2 dogs, a nervous rescue red labrador plus a rescue doberman who is fine with most things. The doberman was fine from the off but the lab is really scared of any new things, even if they don't move/make noise! With the labrador I built it up gradually doing it each day. I started off just touching her paws with it whilst feeding her dinner by hand, then putting it on near her whilst feeding, touching her with it briefly whilst on & rewarding each time just so she felt the vibration etc. It took a month but she now let's me do all her nails no problem! The light is great for seeing when youre getting near the quick too on her as she's got light nails. The Dobermans nails are black so clipping is difficult as you cant see the quick. With the grinder you can do it gradually & get a much shorter nail as you can see when youre getting near the point where you should stop. The one thing I would say it to do a tiny bit on each nail then go back & repeat each nail as if you focus on one nail too long it can generate heat which may make your dog feel uncomfortable. It doesnt burn but common sense tells them if somethings getting hot pull away from it. Saying that my doberman doesnt seem to bother about the heat. It says its very quiet which it is to us but still noisy enough to worry my labrador! However, I dont think you would get a grinder that makes less noise as they will make a noise as theyre grinding & grinding is going to make a noise! I dont normally leave reviews but im really impressed with this & never have to pay for a nail clip again!!! Its taken me a while to leave a review as I wanted to make sure it worked well for a few months before I said it was great!

I purchased this item a couple of years ago and normally use it to smooth off claws after I've clipped them. I have had no mechanical issues ie motor, charging etc. However, I have found over the past 3-6 months that the grinder isn't performing as effectively as it was. It's abundantly clear that the grinding tip has become excessively worn. I'm rather disappointed as the item has only been used on very small thin claws and used in a way to remove any sharp edges. I do feel that this part of the product should have lasted rather longer. However, replacement heads are available at a good price. Overall a fairly good tool.

I use this on both of my French bulldogs and find that it suits my needs perfectly. The quality is good, it’s sturdy and holds charge for a long time. I love that it’s cordless but can be used whilst charging if needed. It’s not heavy and doesn’t make my hand ache at all, about the right size for the job. Very easy to use, I was ready to go within a couple of minutes. The bevelled edge is great at smoothing out jagged edges on dogs nails. Having lights on each side is a fabulous feature as it decreases the chances of grinding down too far. In a perfect world it would come with extra heads, I’d love a tiny one to get into crevices when needed (one dog has a couple of nails that curl into their pad) but I knew this grinder didn’t come with it so it’s fine. I’d recommend to others as long as you work with your dog to ensure they’re comfortable. Not too noisy so definitely easier to accustom dogs to over others.

This grinder is ideal for trimming my Pug’s nails. He hates his paws and nails touched and even the vet has struggled to trim his nails. We’ve even had to have them trimmed whilst he was sedated for something else. I purchased this in a desperate attempt to find something that would work as his nails were growing longer and curling under into the pad of his paw. I wait till he falls asleep and grind his nails - works a treat! It does vibrate and there is a small amount of noise- but nothing to prevent it doing a great job. It’s easy to use, the charge lasts a long time before needing a recharge and it has a handy light so you can see what you are doing. Highly recommend. Good quality product

The dog hates it and runs even before its been used on his nails. Will go and buy some manua clippers... shame as it is a great tool (tried it on my own nails)

Very quiet! Could turn it on near my sound sensitive rescue and she didn't run away. We're building up slowly to filing. Very impressive .

Seems to work very well - followed instructions to get my dog used the grinder and it didn’t seem to bother him once I started on his claws plenty of treats kept him happy just did a little at a time to keep him happy

I regret not knowing this much earlier. Always a struggle to clip my dog’s nails. This grinder works so well in trimming nails and easy to operate. Definitely a must try.

Il mio cagnolone, per la prima volta si è fatto tagliare le unghie senza muoversi o rigirarsi male. Inizialmente non si fidava, poi dopo incredibile ma vero via di lima. Facile da usare, poco rumore, lima che consiglierei anche per noi. Insomma super consigliato

Pas de tremblements pas de stresse et pas de peur donc parfait !! 👍 Quelle bonheur Un peu chaque fois et évite de passer par un vétérinaire ou toileteur pour chiens 🐕 Je recommande fortement ce produit 😁

You can’t see the quick clearly while trimming the nail with this tool. And my dog mainly has white nails so..! It is in my view unfortunately worthless. Waste of money.
