This really works!
We live in a rural area with where there is a huge abundance of sparrows. . We have had a problem with them nesting on light fixtures, security cameras, porch rails, vents on the side of the house, pergola, shed etc. You name it they took up residence by the dozens and the droppings were unimageable. I didn't want to use anything that would harm them, just have them nest in the trees. We tried Slinkys wrapped around fixtures (we had a nest in the loops of the Slinky) bobble head owls, scare tape streamers, windsocks etc. Nothing worked. I emailed Bird Barrier America to verify their product would not be harmful to the sparrows. Customer service replied immediately and confirmed that their product was indeed safe. It would not poison, trap or otherwise harm the birds, just deter them from landing in those areas. I ordered one of the gel pack kits to give it a try. Why not? I have been trying for over 5 years now. I could not believe it! We put the gel packs up on the front porch area as directed and from that point on we have not had a sparrow on the porch, camera, light fixtures. I am not kidding. They are still crazy all over the rest of the yard but not one bird or bird dropping in the area where we put up the gel packs. And the product lasts 1-2 YEARS. I immediately ordered several more packs and we are doing the deck and other structures close to the house. I could not be more impressed with this product. It does exactly what it says.

BIRDS HATE THIS STUFF!!
I tried everything! Spikes, foil, foam, netting, screaming, water, fake owls, and this is the only thing that worked. I didn't do the cleaning, bc I painted, otherwise I would have. I placed the little cups on all perches, (I used more than they recommended). It was like magic. No more birds. About a week later I found a few feathers in one of the goopy cups, but he didn't come back. The cups are small enough so it's not an eyesore. I highly recommend this product to deter birds.

Minimal Effectiveness
If you have easy access to your roof - you may have success with this product. Placing the discs on foundations on ground level have proven to be unfruitful or not productive. Product does not appear to deter birds landing nearby. A few discs were placed on rooftop does not appear to deter birds from landing nearby.

Pigeon Problem Solved!
I tried everything to get rid of and deter pigeons that would land on our balcony and nest there creating a huge mess and headache for us. Nothing worked until I got this optical gel and out it around the railing of the balcony. Now the pigeons don’t come anywhere near it! A huge relief for me and my wife to no longer have to deal with them. Worked like a charm!

Other uses
It’s fantastic for swallows. I also found smearing rods for hummingbird feeders is a great barrier for sugar ants. Works great!

Birds R GONE! FANTASTIC
This product is amazing. Heard about it from our pool guy after complaining to him about the constant traffic morning and evenings of feral doves/pigeons bathing in our pool's spillover.I'd tried a bunch of things from other barriers (they hopped around), fishing line (they learned to avoid) and a variety of scarecrows, squirt guns etc spiky strips etc.. All of these "barriers" were ugly, not to mention ineffective. Worst of all, the birds never really left the pool alone. They just perched nearby waiting to get at the water. The were a terrible problem. Past Tense! After hearing about these from Joe, I really hesitated to plunk down the bucks, but finally did so and then created a clear shelf to stick them to over the water in the spillway. I also places a couple on the travertine on either end of the water feature to maintain the spacing beyond the water.. It took all of about 15 minutes to put the discs in place, making sure to space them according to the directions on the package - pretty much about 10" apart for this install. The morning before install there had been several birds in the spillway, and many more perching about 15 feet away, watching it closely for their turn. Miracle of miricles, once these discs were installed there were no more and have been no more doves - period, not in the spillover, not on the adjacent travertine, and not perching on the fence nearby. As best I can tell the main deterrent is visual - I have seen their shadows as some have flown by - but probably 30 - 40 feet or higher. They clearly are being deterred by what they see.Really interesting thing is that it hasn't deterred other varieties of birds in the yard. I've still got quail families coming thru the yard (but not the pool) and yesterday a pair of cardinals landing on the spa coping but soon flew off to a nearby tree in my yard. Love the birds - just not the doves/pigeoons!!!

They really work. Now 2 years in and STILL work!!
We live in West Texas and have had barn swallows nest on our front porch awning for the past 3 years. Put these up this winter. Power washed, then bleach/water wiped, then hoses off and let dry. Used a dab of brown silicone on the back and stuck them across the porch awning. The birds came back and sat on the ceiling fans on the porch (a couple of feet from the awning) but would NOT get on the ledge. They work. We are a month into when they would have already nested and still nothing. Finally my porch and furniture won’t be covered in bird poop and baby bird droppings. Let’s see how many years I can get out of the set. Even if it’s only a year at a time, I’ll pay $100/yr for a humane way to keep the birds off my porch.Sept 2024: 2 years without the little swallows nesting on our front porch! These have worked great! I’ll update every couple of years or so and see how long they keep them away.
