Awesome Robot
Excellent robot, had to see on u tube how to manage it but really was quite simple, easy to program and work perfect. Sometimes is a little to rapid movements and falls but it re-erects itself

only useful if you can code without help from manufacturer
It's a good platform for learning robotics, but is very limited by the lack of documentation on servo communication protocol from the manufacturer. There are a few arduino libraries out there, and I'm writing one too, to communicate directly with the servos. There's stuff on GitHub ... but you have to dig and dig. But, you can do it. The serial bus servos use a proprietary protocol, unlike most others, so you get a nice strong frame, but not much help figuring it all out. The good news is you can control the servos directly with a little extra hardware (inverter and mosfets) and an arduino board, IF you do a read first from the AlphaRobot Software that you can (hopefully) find online....the robot's main board holds the serial bus OFF until it knows it's connected with the proprierity software. Or just disconnect the robot's main board and use your arduino / pi / etc directly. Each arm / leg has a separate cable to the main board, but they're all the same bus... servos have unique ID's (and yes, you can change them if you know how) The other big problem is that this is simply a DANCING robot. pose to pose, and can't walk or turn. There are some workarounds included with their software but it's laughable. THIS ROBOT HAS NO HIP / LEG ROTATION. You can not twist the hip / leg / foot. that simply means NO real walking other than un correctable forward / back. There is NO self awareness of environment, gravity, "up" etc., but there are many arduino add ons for that. But you'll have to code, a lot, and do a hip joint replacement, and of course a brain transplant. It's not a Noa, but it's also 10x cheaper, in many ways.

This robot is not for everyone. You must have patience and the desire to learn how Electronics work.
Surprisingly my daughter has already learned coding in school. I was not even aware until I saw her coding on the app provided with this robot. My daughter really likes the robot. This robot can be a good learning tool to teach them about servos and other electronic skills which are relevant in today's Workforce. We ordered two of them to have robot fights. Unfortunately one of them I have to return because it is a little bit wobbly. I believe this is because they home position have the feet on this robot are not correctly programmed. This may be geared towards older children ages 10 and up as it requires patience and learning skills. Is also helpful if the parent ordering it is proficient encoding and general Electronics know how. This robot takes some patients to learn how to use it properly but I believe that with a little patience, I can give you a child the building blocks to learn how a robot works

top quality
Grandsons received this for Christmas and they cannot stop talking about the "little dude" that dances and tells them stories.

Avoid novelty mode.
Has a mode called “J Timberlake...”. When enabled it seeks out adult females and starts bringing “sexy back” on their leg. I am concerned. I might return this. Because I’m now confused... Who lost sexy and where did sexy go?

Keep on a low surface!
Great build quality. The robot will fall with the programming that is downloaded from the website. If the Bluetooth is not recognized, then restart your program after rebooting the the bot while holding the device close to the head (worked for us). Lots of potential.

La programación esta muy facil

Nos agradó mucho, lo único que tiene es que de repente a medio baile se tirs de frente y se azota bien recio sin mas, y no se levanta.

I must return this product. The calibration on the feet are not correct. The robot therefore wobbles while it tries to walk and constantly falls down. I do not know how to calibrate this. If it came with different software that I could calibrate the original position position of stance, I could fix it myself but there is no open source programming.
