Fit is perfect

Ordered this for a replacement due to the blue head of my Kobalt string trimmer breaking. Product is NOT an exact fit, leaves about a 1/8 to 1/4 inch gap from the string assembly. Used it today for the first time since ordering it. Lasted all of 10 minutes. One ear broke off the blue retaining cap and the sting turned into a birds nest on the end of the trimmer. Part is total garbage, do not buy it in my opinion!The company did reach out to me in an effort to correct the problem. Unfortunately they sent the exact same end caps as the prior ones. It is NOT a direct fit for this model. The end cap lies flush against the bottom of the trimmer and does not take into account the bump in the line spool. It leaves a gap of 1/4 inch and the ears do not lock into the sides of the spool causing the cap to fly off and the line spool to turn into a birds nest. It seems to be a design flaw. If the end cap was curved rather than flat, this product could work as an exact replacement. Until then, avoid this product for this particular Kobalt trimmer, it simply does not fit.

Cobalt made a weed wacker that has been updated that really needs this. Every time you would stop it would shoot out line instead of when you really wanted it to. Stop to open a gate it would shoot out line you didn't need. stop to rest same thing. This was wasting quite a bit of line. Using this made it a totally new and better tool. It was really hard to try to replace the whole head but this is a snap to put on.

I bought this because I'm tired of broken string over and over while I'm doing the perimeter and edges. This unit fits perfectly in the trimmer and is very easy to assemble. The blades do a good job as long as you don't hit anything hard, then you could lose part of the tip. My yard is surrounded by chain link fence, so it's a little difficult for me not to hit the fence. Even with hitting the fence, I didn't have to change the blade once. I'll have to adjust the way I trim a little bit. Overall, I'm satisfied with this item and would recommend.

Fast delivery and almost correct model. I for the KST 2040-06 and received the KST 120X kit. Not the same.Trying to find how to get it replaced or new, correct caps.

It fit my Kobalt cordless trimmer model 2040-06 perfectly. I bought the 3 pack to have extras handy.

It does not fit the size of weed eaters it says it does.

Cuts really well but I barely tapped it on a rock and the whole housing shattered. Not the blades. Just like everything else. Bad materials. I only used it for 20 minutes. But maybe I just got unlucky
