CrystaLac Brite Tone High Solids Polyurethane Instrument Finish 8 oz Mini (Clear Gloss)

Although I'm sure the luthiers appreciate it, this product has been warmly adopted by the polymer clay community.Not all clear coats are compatible with polymer clay. Many can leave clay sticky, or worse: turning sticky over time.Brite Tone leaves a wonderful shiny finish that is a pleasure to touch, which is important to people like me who tend to fiddle with our pendants and earrings while wearing them.I use a soft brush and apply three or four coats, allowing at least 3 hours of drying time between coats. I hit the surface quickly with a small pressurized lighter flame to break any small bubbles. This finish is self-leveling...there are never any brush marks.Although I use other clear products for other techniques in my clay work, THIS is the only one I expect I'll ever use for a smooth, brilliant shiny finish.

I was using another brand of varnish that came from England. I wanted to use something that was made in the USA and found Crystalac. I am so glad I did! This product is superior to what I was previously using in that it has a higher gloss and it does not yellow, not even slightly! It is water resistant and highly heat resistant... I use it on trivets and coasters. It is fast drying and I can recoat in 2 hours which is a huge plus for me. I highly recommend this product to anyone that wants to have a durable finish but please see their website for applications.

I use these to make Tumblr cups. I found the product to be very thin and you have to do multiple coats, more than normal. Making the process take a very long time.

Goes on really well, self levels and is very shiny ! Rubs down nicely in between coats. Yet to see how it polishes up but so far worth the money.
