What kind of microphone do I need to purchase with this?

Shure doesn't make an SM-50. They make a 57 and 58, but not a 50.

Would it be possible to connect either an acoustic guitar or bass to the aux? I have two mics, a guitar and bass.

Maybe with a direct box, but I believe the aux is line level

Is this an active speaker ?

No, But you do have to use DD batteries
