We purchased the can opener for camping and our outdoor kitchen. Very good value, works great.

Item's description indicates that it is a "SMOOTH EDGE CAN OPENER”. Description includes the following text:“…WON'T TOUCH FOOD…SAFETY OPENER...Smooth Edge Can Opener…lid…still can be returned to the original location…Even can be used repeatedly [on] empty cans……Since the CUTTING DISC DOESN’T TOUCH THE FOOD INSIDE…” [Words in brackets inserted by me to correct description’s grammar.]In fact, THIS IS A REGULAR CAN OPENER THAT CUTS INTO A CAN’S LID & TOUCHES THE FOOD INSIDE THE CAN.If the item was described correctly, I would not have bought it and would not have wasted my precious time ordering it, opening its box, trying it, and now having to spend time in returning it.THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE and I wonder why no other reviewer mentioned this totally incorrect, misleading description.

It worked for a couple months but then it started to get stuck and didn't work well. Had to throw it away about 5 months after purchase.

Turns easily and smoothly.

I bought this can opener after reading reviews online. After just a month and a few uses, it started not working properly. The gears are not lining up and it actually hurts my hands to use it, and it is not working. I resorted to using my old one which although not great, is better than a brand new and more expensive model. What a waste of money!
