This hat is wonderful. It's lightweight, comfortable, and very effective. I'm a real mosquito magnet, and to be outside and get NO bites on my face isamazing. Plus it keeps them far enough away from my ears that I can't even hear their distracting awful buzzing noises whirring in my ears AND it keeps the nats from floating around my face so I'm not always swatting at the air like a crazy person. I'm a small female with thick hair and it fits my head good, but my dad can wear it too because assuming you've got the net down, you can kind of just plop it on your head and it stays on well, without you having to really "pull it on" or pull down hard. I'm outside doing landscaping work so I kind of wanted the lighter color one since I was thinking it might be a little cooler on those hot summer days, but went with the grey one due to several reviews saying that the lighter color ones actually reduce visibility a little. When you first put it on it feels kinda like looking through a screen door or something, but your eyes adjust pretty quickly and you can see fine. Never tried the lighter color to compare, but now that I have it, I can imagine looking through a white screened in porch vs a black screen, and can see how the darker color would be easier on the eyes. Not to mention, I kinda even like how it looks-Kinda Indiana Jones-esq. Great purchase.

Fantastic hat, well made, keeps it's shape, fits my big head, and is comfortable.The net is fantastic, it unfolds neatly, goes down to my shoulders, and has a nice tie string to keep it taut.Absolutely no gnats or other annoyances got in, makes working in the garden 100% more pleasant.It's also a wonderful sun hat, as the net folds up neatly on the top brim and is hidden behind another layer.I'd read some odd reviews about the snaps being in the wrong place, I've no idea what they were talking about. Everything here is functional, well made and 100% flawless. Will be recommending this to everybody!

Look, it's not cute, but when the Maine blackflies threaten to straight carry you away in the garden the cute factor goes out the window. This hat keeps them from attacking your face, flying up your nose, getting caught and buzzing in your hair right next to your ear you know the annoying stuff. Visibility through the hat is just okay, but you are looking through netting. Did enjoy that the netting folds back up into the hat so it can be just a sun hat should you wish. Wanted to buy one for my Dad who has a large noggin, but this certainly would not fit on his head.

This is a great hat to wear with or without the netting. I bought this for gardening, weed pulling, and general rose and shrub maintenance. Our lawn and bushes were abundant with small flying moths and other annoying bugs.Up my nose, in my ears and eyes. It was impossible to be outdoors and get any work done at all. But the purchase of this hat gave me the ability to work without the annoying flying bugs. It really works, easy to “shake” the netting loose and also easy to store it. I can highly recommend. Keeps the bugs out.One small downside is that the netting does restrict some vision. You can see through it (I bought the light tan one) but like looking thru a screen door. Which it kinda is. It works..

I bought this as a last ditch attempt to be able to work in my garden without being bombarded by the swarms of mosquitoes this year. Glad I did. It is nice and airy, keeps well away from your face so you don't feel claustrophobic, and has an easy pull elastic to tighten the bottom so that no nasty critters can stealth bomb you underneath the netting. The mesh tucks up easy with multiple snaps. The hat itself is lightweight and breathable with a fairly strong brim so it wont flap in your eyes while you are trying to work.

I’ve used this hat on many long days in the sun in all shorts of environments! It has stood up to everything I could throw at it. Not to mention over 50 people were impressed by my hat and immediately ordered their own. Biggest take away if you don’t need the bug net then buy a different hat because this hat is more bulky and less breathable. Otherwise I normally dunk my hat in the water multiple times a day to regulate temperature better. It’s kept my face and neck from being burnt all summer. Stayed on during the strongest winds I’ve faced paddling in 20mph winds without a problem. Will definitely be ordering another without the net for bug free trips in the sun. Either way it’s an amazing hat!

Looks like regular sun hat but the magic happens when the net can be used! Keeps the pesky bugs out of face and neck. Easy to un snap to use net and easy to roll up and put back. I like that it comes in colors.It is a little big but I attached a cloth headband to the inside. Works great.

Works well but Small around head but bulky on top.

This hat is very cool and lightweight. It keeps the hot sun off your head while allowing any breeze to cool you off through the netting. I was worried about the really small flying bugs (no-see-ums) getting through the netting but they never made it through. No bug bites all summer.
