There is a metal stud with multiple layers of plywood wall between 2 units. Yes it worked for me

Could this be used for a dslr to field monitor?

Transmitter needs an HDMI source and 5V @ 2A power (AC adapter included). This does not have the bandwidth for 4K or 2160, you will have to keep it to 1080p.
