how much power do they pull? im worried about battery drain

2.9 Watts .58 Amps Per fan. 3 to 7 volt DC. 52 CFM per fan. 1300 RPM. This is directly off the product tech page.

Does the dual 120mm model come with an AC adapter?

Bad answers, or not up to date. This is USB powered but there is a dual 1200mm fan AC version , same company for a few bucks more.

Can these be powered by an external battery pack?

Yes you can power them using an external USB battery pack (power bank). I have the two fans plugged into a USB power bank, with the adjustable inline switch on "H" High, and they draw approximately 0.45A or ~2.25W total. In theory a 10,000 mAh power bank can run these two fans on high for ~ 20 hours.
