OtterBoxAlpha Glass Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy S8 - Retail Packaging - Clear

This is my second Alpha Glass I've purchased and it is easy to apply and provides great protection. I replaced my first Alpha Glass after 8 months only because I drop my phone quite often and it takes quite a beating. Although the screen protector was cracked in many places because of my clumsiness, my phone remained in tact. I've read many reviews that state the screen protector often "popped" out of place from under the Otter Box case, but I never had this problem. I am definitely a satisfied and loyal Otter Box customer!

Most disappointing Otterbox product I have ever purchased. First, after applying the glass to the screen, it seemed to look and work great. I put the phone back in the new Otterbox Commuter case and suddenly found I was losing touch sensitivity along the sides of the screen. I realized the Commuter case must have been "lifting" the edges of the alpha glass, because removing the case resolved this issue. I used the phone + alpha glass for another week (without the Commuter case), and within a few days it had developed a crack on one edge from contacting something else in my coat pocket. A few days to a week after that, the glass started to lift from the edge and within an hour the alpha glass completely came off my S8. The only good news is that it left no residue on the phone's screen. Overall, terrible product and I'm sending it back.

I just received my glass screen protector, after purchasing the Otterbox case and finding out that they no longer come with screen protectors. I was a bit hesitant to purchase after seeing all the 1 star reviews, and was a little irked with Otterbox for making me purchase two items instead of one. But, I've used Otterbox cases with my last two phones and have had no issues whatsoever, so I figured I'd give it a try. Honestly, I'm not sure what all the negative reviews are for! Now, I can't comment on compatibility with any case other than the Defender, but for that case, it works perfectly. It wasn't even remotely difficult to line up the screen protector, and because the adhesive is on the edges, I was able to pull up and slightly adjust after applying. It does appear like I could pull it off easily, but after snapping the case back on, the screen protector and the case are both nice and snug! I haven't noticed any loss of screen sensitivity, clarity, or other issues so far. I've never been a fan of the glass screen protectors, but this one appears to be well worth the money.

Installed fast and easy, but the screen sensitivity was horrible. Very difficult to use the phone and I had to push very hard to make phone work, which got very annoying after a few days. I paired this with the Otter Box Commuter Case, which is a great case, but by itself, the screen is vulnerable and DOES SCRATCH EASY!! The case however, does not fit well with the Alpha Glass and kept popping it off the screen. After two weeks, the Alpha Glass spider cracked into three pieces and was useless, so I took it off. I've used screen protectors on my previous Samsung phones with great success. But for the price, I was very disappointed. It seems to be plastic. Part of the problem is the curved / raise glass of the Galaxy S8, which I'm not a fan of, which must be challenging for OtterBox to be fair. If I would have known curved glass was this vulnerable and hard to protect, I would not have got the S8.

I really really want to give this 5 stars. I love Otterbox products and have been using them for years. I've never been disappointed. However, this screen protector is pretty annoying. When I first ordered, I followed the application directions precisely as shown on the Otterbox video tutorial. When I applied it, the touch sensitize went down greatly with some dead spots. So, I got a replacement, applied it, and it worked as if there was no screen protector at all. No loss in sensitivity EXCEPT at the very top. It sometimes takes a few try to pull down my notification bar. Another issue I've had with this protectors is sometimes the edges will pop out the side of my phone case. I use the Otterbox commuter case so I assume it's compatible, but sometimes when I take it out my pocket, the edges around the top and the sides will come out slightly. When this happens, I lose sensitivity near that area. Sometimes I can pop it back in, but other times, I have to completely remove the case to fix it. This can happen several times a day on average.Now, with that said, I do think this screen protector is great! I've dropped my phone many times since apply the protector and have absolutely no cracks on it. This includes a time where I removed my phone case and the phone fell on a corner. I've even dropped it down entire staircases before and my phone remained unscathed!I would 100% recommended this product, but cannot give 5 stars due to the little annoying things that are far too common.

Received the product and it seemed to install easily enough. However there was a gap between the screen and the phone. It cracked on the 2nd day. Very disappointing. I always buy otter box products for all of the phones in our family...and this is the first time they have let me down. $44 for nothing**Otter box customer service replaced the glass at no charge and the replacement installed perfectly. No issues. Updating review from 1 star to 4.

Si tienes un s8 debes tener este cristal templado, queda perfecto, pero ten precaucion porque solo tiene adhesivo en los extremos. Si tienes una carcasa OtterBox defender jamás se caerá porque la carcasa queda sobre pa periferia del cristal.

Se monte facilement.La coque protège bien l écran par contre le tactile fonctionne moins bien surtout sur la partie haute.

Long story short. This DOES NOT WORK. I tried with 2 of them now, and I'm not gunna bother a 3rd time. This screen protector will make your touch screen lose sensitivity almost completely. I installed two of these SO SO SO carefully, and EXACTLY to directions, first one casued the entire right side of my screen to stop working, after resetting it and trying a few times I gave up, issued an exchange for another. 2nd one came... I SO SO SO VERY CAREFULLY just installed the 2nd one and now the entire top of my screen is dead. Reset it carefully, now the top and right side dont work. Tried to take it off and it cracked from one corner to the other, and spiderweb cracked in the bottom corner. Trust me when I say I am 30 years old and have been building computers and working with electronics and sensitive devices/equipment since age 10, I am meticulous, I am very careful, and I have a keen eye for anything out of place, this screen protector is useless whether you want to use a case with it or not, your entire screen sensitivity will suffer, and there is a HIGH HIGH risk that one or more edges of your screen will stop working. Also if it cracked that bad while I was carefully removing it sitting down in my bedroom.. imagine actually dropping your phone on something hard/jagged ??? I genuinely feel as though one of two things happened here. 1-absolutely NO product testing was done, or 2-Otterbox are completely aware of this issue but are still making more money of those eating the costs as opposed to taking the time to return them.Samsung is also HEAVILY to blame for this, who makes a curved screen? That is insane! The cons FAR FAR FAR outway the pros lmao, what a terrible design, whoever came up with that should've been fired.

The touch is not responsive and hard press is required to operate.
