I count & bag myself to ensure a good lot. Color is the duller chrome silver often used with antique silver findings. (Alternate silver color is a bright white tone. Second picture shows a comparison.) Rhodium/Platinum refers to the color, not the metal silver & do not tarnish. Nickel Free, they are hypoallergenic and suitable for most sensitive ears. . The metal is iron which is commonly used for plated findings. Some vendors sell these ear wires as plated stainless steel which is incorrect. Stainless Steel is an alloy of iron; however, stainless steel is much more expensive due to it's non-corrosive (rust) characteristics. Use caution when purchasing silver plated "stainless steel". If the price is low, it is likely silver plated iron. As a fellow jewelry artist, I share as much information as possible so you can make an informed decision. Iron is inexpensive and plated in 6 colors (see below). More prone to rust than other metals, I have had good success with the platings, but no plating lasts forever. To help with size, view all pictures. Drawing out the measurements using a ruler can be very beneficial as well. All plated items will wear over time and extended use. For best results, avoid moisture and store away from direct lighting. I have had findings for years that stayed the true color, but results vary depending on many factors.
