My search is over :)
For years I’ve been trying to achieve the perfect poached egg, with underwhelming results. I've tried most techniques and gadgets out there, only to be frustrated and settle for the gummy convenience of microwave poachers… Until I found this little marvel. Simple, minimal fuss, quick cleanup. With zero chef skills, just following package directions, I was able to produce a lovely rounded (not flat) poached egg, using regular eggs straight from my fridge (nothing fancy, but try to use the largest eggs available). I used nonstick spray on the mold, broke an egg in it and drained over a teacup while simmering 2 quarts of water with 2 tsp vinegar. I swirled the water before placing the poachers in for about 4 minutes, adjusting to taste. After removing each poacher, draining over a teacup, and opening the silicone cover, I placed a paper towel over each poacher and gently flipped it over my hand to place on a dish. Voila! I’m thinking of buying another set of 2, but I can easily reuse them before cleanup. Just place in the dishwasher or sponge wash with soap and water. Definitely the best results for the money and effort, in shape, texture, and taste.

these were only ok
A friend of mine got these and loved them so I decided to try them out as we are a big egg eating family. I wasn't overly impressed as they can get hot to the touch when in the water and a bit of a pain to take a peek to see if they are ready. Also cleaning them is also a bit of a pain as it takes some effort to get the egg out of the screen. The eggs though come out lovely.

This poaches eggs easily
This works well to poach eggs, but the screen mesh needs to be sprayed as directed or egg white sticks to it. Even with spray, a little egg white might stick to the screen mesh. Using parchment paper helps to not have egg white stuck on after poaching. Update: using the parchment paper really helped perfect the after poaching clean up! Finally perfect poached eggs after trying so many other poachers.

expensive, useless
After 5 failures, I decided to recicle this contraption as a tea infuser. It works like a charm.

Extremely hard to clean
The theory is great but the reality, not so much. It does drain excess liquid from the egg as promised. 3 Minutes at 195 degrees does not yield a cooked egg - unless, of course, you like runny white mucoid textured eggs. They are good for one run, then done. By that, I mean the egg cooks into the screen of the basket making them almost impossible to clean! I gave up on that effort after about 5 minutes of trying and threw them out.

I love it.
I messed up the first time. As you can see in the picture, it is a perfect poached egg for my eggs benedict breakfast. It is so easy to use. Easy to clean. Haven’t masters how to remove it yet. I love it!!!

Great Egg Poacher
I am very pleased with this egg poacher. I use Ex. Large eggs, and this item is big enough to handle that size egg. I just add about 1 minute to the recommended time. I use a scrub brush to clean the strainer side of the poacher, and it's pretty easy. I would not hesitate to purchase this item.
