Captivating, Fascinating.... Broken Reign
This is another well written 🙌🏾 dramatic and exciting story by Ava Harrison. I don't know what took me so long to read this story but I knew once I got started I would not be able to read as anything else. This story about Skye Matthews and Tobias Kostas was well worth the purchase. This is the story of two young people who suffered the traumatic loss of their parents. Skye Matthews lost both of her parents in an explosion 💥 and in the same explosion 💥 Tobias Kostas lost his father, his mother died in childbirth, giving birth to him. So Skye Matthews was adopted by the local detective Ralph Matthews and Tobias was raised by his uncle. They were both young children when they met at first but now she's a lawyer and he is a Billionaire CEO. You just have to read this story it has so many highs and lows and it definitely has some twists and turns but it is definitely worth reading. Get this book 📚📖 and you will be trying to find other books 📚📖 to buy and read by Ava Harrison.

I enjoyed the read but the ending felt rushed.
I really enjoyed the action and the details that made my brain think of who is guilty. The ending did seem rushed starting at where Felix caught Skye snooping around. It just all happened too fast of Skye getting rescued like the snap of your fingers and Felix suddenly captured.

You're my Skye!
I really liked the intrigue and mystery of this story set in a mafia family. From the very beginning all the way until almost the end, I sat in totally Flux trying to figure out who the killer was and how it all pieced together for Skye and Tobias. These two were a totaly opposites attract situation. Skye was a sunny, sassy heroine and gave Tobias a run for his money. I don't think anybody had ever challenged Tobias the way Skye did.The story was angsty, mysterious, and a wee bit spicy throughout and kept me turing pages to find out the conclusion. I think Skye was the perfect heroine to Tobias' hero. I always like when we get to see small snippets of characters from other books which we did in this story line as well. These men have stuck together through thick and thin, and I have enjoyed watching them all fall at the hands of the women they adore.

Disappointed with editing
This story had a great premise; but at 82% I was so bored that I stopped reading. I didn't even skip to the end because I was really done with this book before 82% if I'm being honest and just didn't care what happened. The editing is really very disappointing. There is a scene for example where she calls her dad, apologizes for waking him, then states that she listens through the phone line as he takes a sip of water. Imagine my surprise to know that you can tell someone is drinking water over the phone because of how the sip sounds? It's story goofs like that which kept my investment into this book shallow. There are redundant character building blocks, and circular inner monologs, you know the type "she's mine, but I shouldn't want to be with her, but I can't stay away, but I'll try, but I won't cause she's mine" over and over for 150+ pages. I love slow burn, but this was slow-boring instead. Also, the time flow is jarring. We go from a literal play by play, one characters POV picks up right after the other characters POV ends, but then we have time jumps all the sudden...which felt jarring to me. Also, she states how much she loves her dad, but then she finds out some news about him that would prompt any caring daughter to drop everything and be there for dear old dad, but not Skye. She acts in a manner that screams indifference towards him. Skye is so so unlikable; and the non-stop winking was very juvenile. Finally, the paragraph transitions were very strange. Sometimes it felt like the author lost pages while writing and decided to just put a spacer in and randomly start a new paragraph with a new thought.Again, promising book idea, but very sub-pae execution. 3 stars simply for the great premise, and because hey ... I did get to 82%

great book
I’m a huge fan of this author and this book is no exception. Great book. The plot surrounding the death of their parents was a little long, but I still loved the story of Tobias and Skye.

Page turner.
Good book with lots of chemistry and a beautiful love story from a shared broken past. Story was engaging and kept the pages turning. Was a little disappointed in the ending, I was expecting more.

What's not to love!?! The sky, the tattoo...all make me melt!
I found Ava Harrison by chance. I was drawn to the cover of Tarnished Empire. I have become addicted to her writing ever since. I love these characters and I want to read all the other stories with these strong, powerful and oh so sexy men.Broken Reign was without a doubt a glorious and stupendous read. We had a couple that were drawn together by fate as kids and reconnect as adults with attraction that could combust. I love that Tobias recognizes her from afar and will do whatever is required to bring then into the same sphere again. Of course, there is a lot of push and animosity to work through but it gave us amusing bickering through the book. Who doesn’t love a strong, feisty and smart heroine!?! Skye was all that and more. I was struck by her compassion and how easily she forgave. This book also delivered a glimpse into all the characters we have grown to love in previous books. I just love how they band together and would do anything for each other.Overall, this is another awesome read that you don’t want t miss out on. Fair warning, if you aren’t addicted to Ava Harrison yet you soon will be!

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
The story revolves around our heroine mostly. Her past is interconnected with our hero. They have met each other a long time ago when both were kids and were distracted by each other. That beautiful day , turned into a awful one. It was a blood bath massacre that lead to our heroine and hero both orphans.Years later when they meet, our heroine is all grown up but in a mirage that that day our hero died. On the other hand our hero recognises our heroine immediately after their first encounter. They begin this new journey as enemies. But in between that there are a lot of secrets and people who don’t want them together. However, they are strong without each other and stronger together 🥺

Good contemporary
3.75 stars, plot was well written with justified twists and action. It was the main characters that i couldn't connect that much. The romance didn't feel developed, it went from 0 to 100 real quick around 60-70%
