What is the closest the centerline of the drain can be to the wall? Mine is very close 5.5", will this work?

Plastic junk!

The item arrived beautifully packaged and elegant looking.... but: The trap body is two piece light plastic and snaps together like a dimestore Easter egg. AND LEAKS! I attempted to glue it together, but it's a piece of unusable junk.
