The single best book on feminist theory that I've ever read in my life!
I've been reading various texts on gender, feminism, and similar topics in college classes for the last couple of years, ranging from 19th and 20th C European and American feminist schools of thought, early and mid-20th C Egyptian feminism, to existential feminism. This book, feminism without borders, is the single best approach to feminist theory that I've ever read. The idea that there does not have to be a single, homogenous definition of what a feminist is, which is a central tenant of this book, is brilliant. The author starts here and beautifully explores this and related ideas. This book should be required reading for all students of gender studies, history, any aspect of literary studies or the arts. This book could alternatively be titled feminism without racism, feminism without classism, or feminism without religious discrimination.

Very good book also timely
Mohanty talks about an antiracist and anticapitalist feminism that felt really timely. She makes a very good case for holding a more inclusive and complicated feminism. This book is very good although a little hard to read as it is very scholarly.

Decolonizing
I like the idea of giving up colonization. Capitalism has had its day in consuming the products of the earth and plundering its populations. Now it is time to improve the quality of life for the masses. The 1% has quite enough.

asesome book
it is a bit complicated to read (as are most post-colonial theorists) but she really makes a good case to stop the hero/victim duality that perpetuates in the minds of many feminists and other activists (such as people that advocate for human rights, fair trade, etc)

Too academic for inclusivity
I was very disappointed with this book because I was expecting a guideline on how we can come together as feminists rather than continuing this whole separation movement that we are currently in. However, this book was not about that at all, in my opinion. This book was extremely academic, which appeals to a very specific audience (college educated feminists, largely white feminists) and did not really offer a solution to how we can come together and create an inclusive social movement. For instance, while I can understand the academic terminology and language, I would not be able to share the information I learned from this book with my friends, family, partner, etc. because they would not be able to understand a single passage in this book. I was expecting inclusive language that would be easy for different folks to understand, and this book definitely was not that.

Un libro interesante
La perspectiva que propone Mohanty abre un panorama de discusión que va más allá de las percepciones tradicionales de la teoría del feminismo.
