DOGTEK 500ft Boundary Wire For Electronic Dog Fence System

Not only was the wire a correct equal, but since I had wire and cable experience in a previous industry, I contacted the Amazon vendor after receipt of the wire, to verify it is truly an equal product.They were very helpful in showing me that the wire they offer is truly a correct equal to the PetSafe brand wire in wire gauge, direct burial insulation material, and the thickness of insulation, which are the only three factors needed in determining its fitness for use with the PetSafe dog fence. I did the homework, and have enjoyed the cost savings for my dog fencing even more!

This wire replaced our existing electronic dog fence wire (from a different company) that finally broke underground. By the time we dug up the old one and found the break, I figured I might as well lay new wire since it was going to be about the same amount of effort. It has been working great since the install. This wire was not any nicer than other wire I've seen, but it was significantly cheaper. We used the wire to cover about a fifth of an acre and there was plenty left over in the spool. I have no doubts it will easily cover the quarter acre advertised, if not more.

Bought this wire to add to my existing fence system, also DogTek. Shipped out and arrived very quickly and was original DogTek wire with what seems to be a very durable coating. I am also very happy with their customer support. I had a question about adding another spool of wire to my system and they responded within an hour! Can't get much better than that. I plan to add another 500ft soon.

Solid copper wire, works well buried or stapled to a fence. Me personally I would rather it be black, or dark green... or even brown... that way when you don't bury it, it isn't an eye sore. That being said, color isn't important to me, as a reliable product that does what's intended. So it's an easy 4 out of 5... could be a 5 in all honesty, as I don't have any complaints besides color.

Buyer beware... this wire is (I assume) suitable for underground use, but it's about half the thickness of the wire that Invisible Fence installed in my yard. The wire itself is thinner, and the covering on the wire is also about half as thick. I chose to double the wire to achieve about the same thickness. The wire does work for my repair, but it's not really as thick as I expected.

My fine dog would enjoy digging under a regular fence and touring the neighborhood. With this electric fence only the dog knows it is there and she stays nicely in my yard now and can only bark at a truck but not chase it. What a relief. It is certainly easier to cut the grass with the wire underground and no actual fence to trim around. Also the cost saving feature of this fence as opposed to a chain link or whatever is wonderful. Just be sure to keep a spare battery for the dog collar because once you start using this method of keeping the dog contained you don't want to have a minute without it... I don't find many products worth raving about, but this fence is a wonderful improvement for both me and my fine dog. Will mention it is convenient to have the wire placed so the dog can't greet people in my driveway.

Great product. Only complaint The solid copper becomes a hassle when you have to go around different areas. But all invisible fence wire is......and my Pitbulls laughed at me and took the correction shock on higest level like it was a tickle. Dont buy overpriced gauardian. Get the real deal or spring for a chainlink fence

Our previous underground line has been spliced a few times to accommodate irregular areas that I needed to cordon off from the dog - good heavens she loves to run through my garden - and at some point, we discovered it straight up wasn't working anymore. We needed to get a fresh spool - not enough left on our old one - and I needed to re-work the lawn. Worked with my current system, was just as easy to lay down though I wound them around stakes since it's winter and didn't want to put it down in the ground yet and remind our dog where her boundary was once again. Runa stick through the spool to make laying it out easier and so you don't have to rough your fingers up instead as you unwind as you go.

although this is made for invisible dog fence I Have purchased it to use as a long wire antenna for short wave reception for which it works well and is less expensive than braided antenna wire
