I recently purchased the OtterBox Galaxy S22 Ultra Defender Series Case, and I must say, it has exceeded all my expectations when it comes to phone protection. I had a case on my S22 Ultra before, but no clip, just kept it in my back pocket. Turns out this is a great way to wear holes in your jeans, not to mention somewhat risky for the phone. Finally ordered a good case with clip. I've always appreciated the solid construction on previous OtterBox products I've used, and this case is no exception. It's bulky because the S22 Ultra is a land barge of phones, but the clip is secure and the phone is easy to remove and replace. There are no instructions on putting the phone into the case, but there's plenty of videos online to show you how. I didn't want to break it trying to figure it out. Happy with my purchase!

It is now March 2025. I bought this case September 2022. This case comes with a hard plastic outer frame which I have never used. The case is a rubber covering over a thin internal plastic frame. This case makes the already large Samsung s22 Ultra phone even bigger and more bulky. It is definitely not tight front pocket friendly. However I have had many gasp and oh crap moments where my phone has been dropped or Fallen from significant Heights onto hard concrete and tile floors and concrete pavement. My phone and screen have been flawlessly protected. The only scratches and nicks on my phone are from before my case arrived when my phone has fallen out of my pocket while getting out of my car and falling all the way to the pavement. I consider myself lucky my phone wasn't broken on those incidences and I do not believe it could have taken many more. It has definitely taken more Falls but not since having this OtterBox case. The outer plastic sleeve and Holster / belt clip are completely useless to me but if you are an old timer or carry a lot of stuff on your belt, not in your pockets and don't mind having your phone outside of your pants then you have that option available. You must decide what is most important to you Ultra sleek and slimness or Ultra protection. For my activities habits and work I needed more protection than sleekness.

This is a good solid case that recesses the S22 Ultra far enough to be protected but with the side panels short enough so they don't interfere with side swiping while making the shorter end sides taller to keep the screen off the ground when it falls. It fits well with the Magic John screen protector(No issues with the screen protector hitting the case). The only things I would change are 1) include instructions(I had to find a video online to show how to disassemble the 3 part frame and reassemble with the phone, but it's easy once you see how), 2) move the push lever that latches the case into the holster, from the long side of the holster to the short side (top of phone). It feels a little awkward taking it in and out of the holster and I think it would be better to have the clip you push on, be on the top of the phone rather than the side. and 3) The kickstand locking mechanism could be designed better as it feels like it is going to eventually crack at the latch(unless you use 2 hands to release the pressure on it when opening or closing the kickstand). I'd also like the clip to open a little larger to make it easier to clip on thicker belts. Otherwise I'm happy with it and it appears to be a good investment to protect my S22 Ultra.

Has provided great protection and has lasted me a long while.
