Quality filter

Bypass oil filter cartridge works well. Installed in a 99 Ford F350 with 7.3 diesel.

Foreign material under plastic wrap.

Filter arrived un-dented and plastic sealed. However, there is a paint, or maybe a wax, under the plastic in the oil contact area and on the gasket. If this were a primary oil filter I would not trust it. Since it is a bypass filter I will remove the paint and use it.
