I've been a commercial photographer for over 15 years, and for most of that time I relied on a white or gray card along with a calibrated monitor to handle color correction. That workflow served me well through thousands of photos and countless pieces of printed product packaging, so I never really felt the need to add a ColorChecker to my kit. Looking back, I wish I had done it years ago.The ColorChecker Classic Mini has made color accuracy faster, easier, and more consistent, especially when I'm shooting on location in mixed or uncontrollable lighting. The software (which you download from Calibrite's website) is simple to use and makes creating custom camera profiles almost effortless. Instead of spending time correcting color later, I can start from a much more accurate baseline and focus on the creative side of editing. If you're on the fence because of the price, I completely understand. After using it, though, I can confidently say it's absolutely worth the investment. I'd buy it again without hesitation.
