As mentioned, some of the Dielectric grease is displace by the wires and pressed into the wires. If you are adding one more wire to the bunch, I see no reason why you can't reuse in this case as you are adding mass to the cavity. If you want to be anal, you could add more Dielectric grease to the nut and wires (after twisting them) prior to reuse of the wire nut; cost is about $0.50 per nut if you are considering material cost. But in a pinch, if you run out of nuts, you can add Dielectric grease to finish the job.

No the silicone in the wire caps are like Vaseline never gets solid. I have a jar of Vaseline that is around 50 or so years old and it's just like they we bought it.

I don't know any thing about 12 gauge wire, but for 16 gauge wire it can hold at least 2 .

Work as intended without issue

Straight forward easy to use. Used it for outdoor wires for my sprinklers as old ones kept having water calcium. This one solves the issue. No longer needed to keep restripping wires.

I bought a pack of these to do a diy sprinkler repair, the sprinklers have not worked for over a year. I watched a couple of videos and decided to re-wire the valves and replaced the solenoids. I used these grease caps to connect the zone wires and common wire to the sprinkler wire. Worked like a charm and even my husband was amazed that I fixed it all and repaired the broken sprinklers. I was going to call someone out, but didn't like the price so I did it myself and these grease caps were an easy way to connect the wires.
