Wrangler Riggs Workwear Mens Ranger Work Utility Pants

Boy oh boy, was I skeptical about ordering PANTS online. I wear a 35 x 30... yea, I'm kinda built like a brick... a not-too-tall brick, so I never buy pants without trying them on first. So I was more than a little pleasantly suprised to find a pair of extremely well-built, comfortable, and well-fitting cargo pants that even look pretty good on me. (I say pretty good cause, lets face it, with my body type I'll never be in an Old Spice commercial) I got several comments on these jeans the first day I wore them to work! (Yes, by women...) I thought I would point out a few things about these pants that aren't mentioned in the Amazon description: The Best! If you actually do some PHYSICAL LABOR at your jobsite, you most likely wear a knife with a side pocket clip. I usually put mine in my front right pocket in the corner. I have lost count of how many pockets I have worn completely out, and how many good knives I have lost, by constantly taking my knife out and putting it back to that spot. These pants have nice piece of leather in that exact spot!!! And its not overly thick so my knife is still easy to take out and put back in my pocket. Truly Awsome! The pant sizes have more variety. What I mean is most pant sizes go from a 34" waist to a 36" waist... I have always been cursed with being right in the middle. The 34 was a little too tight, and the 36 was just too baggy. 35" is just right! Riggs is made by Wrangler so maybe that is how all their jeans are. Whatever the case my be, Thank You! I have owned several pairs of Carhartt cargo work pants... I don't want to say anything bad about their product, because I really do believe they make a great pair of jeans, BUT... Their pants have always been tailored to a slimmer build, and there are a lot of guys like me who will just never fit into that particular cut. Has anyone out there ever spent more than a few hours bucking bales of hay? If you have then you have probably worn out the thighs of either the right or left legs, maybe both! These pants are DOUBLE LAYERED over the thighs. I haven't put them through the ringer yet, but I believe these pants will take a lot hay bales before they will even come close to wearing out. Minor con The only thing I have that is not completely complimentory about these pants are the pockets. I love the number and placement of all the pockets, but the front hip and rear pockets are very deep. This is more a personal preference than any real flaw in the product. A lot of it has to do with the fact that I ALWAYS where a watch, and it makes it a little awkward to dig into my pocket. I also cary a golfers wallet (yea, I'm an enigma) so its also a bit of an adjustment digging it out of my back pocket. In summary, I really can't say enough great things about these Riggs cargo pants. I feel like a was stretching a little bit about the pockets, but I base a lot of my Amazon purchases on customer reviews and I thought I owed it to everyone else looking for a product like this to give as much information as I could. (And I hope my spelling was close!)

These pants are awesome! I'm a boiler tech and they are a professional yet laid back look. My Thoughts: MATERIAL FEEL -The fabric is a thin yet strong feel and it doesn't seem as if just anything will tear at it. The thinner feel will be great for spring and hotter days when I'm stuck in a boiler room. DOUBLE KNEE -I will definitely need knee inserts as the thinner feel is very apparent when working on the knees. The knee is holding up so far. POCKETS -Pocket fabric is very rugged and that is one of the reasons I went for this brand. My previous work pants would eventually tear a hole in the front pant pockets leaving the pants useless or needing repair (I never repair so I don't know if it is easy). This is mostly caused by my keys. -I carry my galaxy note 2 and my android max work phone in the same front pant pocket. Very roomy. -I am very impressed with the right side pocket leather/leatherette patch. This works great to secure my pocket knife and measuring tape. It also makes clipping to it really easy. LEG POCKET/CARGO POCKETS -The leg pockets are more of a cargo pants feel but that isn't a bad thing since these don't sag with things in them as standard cargo pants would. They fit my needs but may not be a good fit for others that are used to the Carhartt setup. PANT/HAMMER LOOP -I don't often use the pant loop so I cannot comment on it on a daily use perspective. I have read that it doesn't fit many pipe wrenches though. I haven't tried that but will and update. BELT LOOP -Belt loops are roomy, for those that use larger than standard they should work. LENGTH -Sometimes when I order pants with my inseam measurements they come a bit longer or shorter. These came perfect and work very well with my work boots and even tennis shoes when I change after work. FIT -They are more of a loose comfort fit. Just use a belt to keep them secure when loaded down. CONCLUSION -I typically wear Carhartts and Carhartts are good pants but I don't always like the feel and fit of them. I wanted more of a comfortable yet durable pair of pants but I found out quickly that it's hard to find all the features you want from work pants. When I ordered the Riggs Workwear pants I expected everything as described and got exactly that. The material, build and fit won me over and I will be transitioning my work pants to RIGGS. I love Carhartt and will continue to buy their bibs but as far as work pants I am now a RIGGS man. I say try a pair and I think you will agree that they are great pants.

This is probably my 4th pair of Riggs. I started buying these when Carhartt's quality went down hill, quite noticeably. So instead of continuing to buy a product just because of a name (like most people are doing still), i decided to go with quality. I was never really big into the way the Wranglers fit, but my dad had pair before me and said they were great. When i decided to buy my first pair, he was right. PLUS, the rip-stop material is really strong and long-lasting. Honestly, i just went through my last pair and they lasted 1 year. That's also because i wore them every day at work, washing them twice a week. I consider that pretty darn good. Over time, there was fading in spots where i'd have something constantly in the same pocket. For example, my wallet, keys, and phone all had white outlines and ended up wearing over time. Not the greatest look but it did take a while to get to that point. And again, i wore the heck out of them. The fit is okay. Ordering any clothing online can be a risk. I can tell you that i'm honest to myself about my waist size (36). I've noticed on reviews of pants, in general, that a lot of men either don't know where their waistline is, or they're not being honest. This creates the problem of "what size should i order?" and "Are they true to size"? To save some confusion with these Riggs, i'd say order the size that fits you best, overall. Since i work both in and outside, i order a 38 W so that i have room to tuck shirts in. Another key feature about these that even most casual jeans fail to do, is they have the 2 belt loops on both sides of the back seam. I absolutely hate when there's way too much space in between loops, resulting in bunching or the belt coming up above the pants. These will prevent that from happening. They also sport a leather pocket corner on the right side pocket. This is also a great feature because it prevents wearing from the constant in and out of getting keys or phones or whatever you keep in the front pocket. I do wish that both front pockets had them, not just the right. Both back pockets have added protection on the top of them, as well. Not leather but added material for protection. Simply put, Wrangler makes these pants to last for the working Man or Woman. Carhartt lost that a while back. I used to go through the knees of those pants like nobody's business. Owning one pair of these as opposed to 3 pair in a year, makes much more sense and much more AFFORDABLE. Here's a quick Pros and Cons for further assistance. Thanks for reading! I think these might be the best pair of pants I own. I purchased 3 of them in different colors and I'm very happy with my purchase. From the look and styling, to the material and their durability, I think Wrangler hit a home run with these. I bought these for work. But these are definitely a pair of pants you can wear on a casual night out and still look spiffy. The price is on point. And for the money I think the bang for the buck is unbeatable. Fit is true to size. The waist is not really stretchy so If you prefer a little give in the waist of your pants order a size or 2 up. I find these pants to be extremely comfortable. I can bend, kneel, squat and do any number of movements without restrictions. Other pants typically get hung up on the knees for example if you squat. These are plenty roomy and don't feel claustrophobic. You retain a natural range of motion in them. They are thick and feel like you can weather the apocalypse in these but because of the design you have room to breathe so there's no overheating in them. I love these pants.

Very great pants. I’ve been wearing this brand for probably about 8 years now. This pair I bought is probably my 10th-ish that I have gotten. They are tough and reliable. Depending on the amount and type of wear and tear, you can probably get 1-3 years use out of them before they start getting kind of ratty. They also tend to lose color after a while but that is to be expected. They have generous pocket space. While a tad heavy, they make up for in comfortability and ruggedness. My cats love them because they can dig their claws in and I don’t feel a thing! I definitely recommend these and have already gotten my friends to buy them too. Hey Wrangler, if you are looking for a brand advocate, HOOK ME UP!

I was very impressed with the heavy duty materials and thoughtful design...until the stitching started coming out of one of the leg pocket after the 2ND wash. Now I am less impressed. All the effort put into materials and design (and it looks like alot) is useless if my pants spontaneously turn into assless chaps because of poor stitching. The manufacturer should consider gluing or sealing the stitching ( and firing its current seamstress ) as is standard in maritime fabric items designed for hard use in the field. The pants themselves are a wonderful design. They fit very well, the color of the tan pants is darker than the picture shown, almost an olive or dark earth but after my initial shock I would say I like it better than the color in the picture. The fabric is massively heavy, similar to the outer layer of fireman's bunker gear and will no doubt take a lot of punishment. The front of the legs is double thick. Rip stop weaving is evident throughout all the fabric. The leg pockets secure with heavy brass snaps that appear high quality, they are slimmer to the leg than BDU leg pockets, which is good unless you plan to smuggle armadillo's in your leg pockets, when carrying items like tools and mags they allow less slapping around than BDU leg pockets and hold items firmly. 3- 30rd magpuls should fit nicely. There are numerous extra small pockets built in throughout the pant who's purpose I have yet to discover. The front and back pockets are spacious and made of strong material. The right front pocket has a leather gusset, but only the right front pocket, which I feel should be remedied to include both, for those of us who carry knives on the left. The zipper is a heavy brass ykk design and feels sturdy enough to circumsize an elephant. These pants are the best and most rugged design I have ever worn, if they get their quality control problems solved they would beat tru-spec and 5.11 hands down.

I have been buying this particular style work pants for probably nine years. I used to get them at Sam’s outdoors then I found tractor supply started carrying them. But I needed a couple replacement pairs and nobody had the size I needed so I ordered them on Amazon. I use these every day working on my property because I’m retired. That’s what I do. They hold up real well and they have the cargo pockets which is a big plus cause I keep the wallet and one and my cell phone and the other that way I’m not sitting on my wallet in my back pocket and my cell phone is readily available. They’re not cheap but they hold up for years. I have some that are five years old and still going strong. I Highly recommend them.
