Best Iron/Heme Iron I have found. READ!
Wonderful product! This helped me beat an anemic state I was dealing with. It seems to absorb so much better then Iron Bisglycine. This did not change my poop black, which Bisglycinate did. That is a sign, when supplementing iron that all the iron was not absorbed. I am sure it can possibly make your poop black but my body absorbed it all. No special way to take this iron either, no vitamin c needed. I would suggest you take this in the morning or on an empty stomach. Reason being, if your meals are high in calcium it can stop some of the absorption. The body also absorbs things better first thing in the morning. Calcium is the only thing that can stop SOME heme iron absorption. If meals are low in calcium, then you obviously can take the iron with them too. I believe I had an iron issue due to my past Vegan diet, I did not learn how to correctly eat with the vegan lifestyle. There are Vegan foods high in iron such as Blackstrap Molasses but I did not know that, pea protein powder has a lot of iron as well. Lentils and Legumes also have high iron, which I was eating BUT I was not soaking them overnight, etc. Plants and grains have anti-nutrients which minimize absorption of many nutrients. You can remove some anti-nutrients with soaking/cooking but not all. Something to look into if you never heard of it. Tea/Coffee also block some iron absorption, if taken at the same time. Please research. I just wish the capsule did not include Silicone Dioxide but it is pretty difficult to find supplements today without some type of filler/preservative/flow agent. Their other versions of Iron has Dyes so this is why I choose this. This version is often sold out, very popular! Other vitamin deficiencies/issues, leading to Anemia can also be: B-12 B-6 Vitamin A,C,E,K Folate Zinc Copper Possible Candida/SIBO/Parasites This is why getting a Vitamin Panel/Parasite test from your Doctor is your best bet.

I’m feeling much better!
I’m getting my iron levels retested next week, so I’ll have to update my review. But two years ago when I tested my ferritin was low 20s. Then when I tested earlier this year it was 27 despite taking beef liver every day and eating red meat multiple times a week. I added these in the last several months and will update when I get my results back, but the noticeable differences I’ve seen is I stopped getting sick when I added these in and my energy went way up. So it must be working!

Highly recommend!
I started taking these pills when I was pregnant after trying other iron supplements, and they are the only medicine that worked to raise my iron levels! I still take them to help with my energy level and body temperature regulation. I’ve never experienced any sort of upset tummy issues.

Gentle on little bodies
These have been very gentle on my kids’ GI system - no nausea or constipation. We haven’t tested yet to see if it improved ferritin numbers but symptoms are down so I’m expecting the anemia to be resolved when we retest.

Works
I have not had my levels checked but I can feel that I am not on the low side anymore as it is very apparent. One time I was told to stop taking my iron supp bc my pcp misinterpreted my iron panel. My energy, cold tolerance etc plummeted quickly. I have taken this and the Three Arrows supp which this co. Apparently sued for claiming to be a heme iron. Anyways Three Arrows worked great objectively through labs I know that my levels were going up and rather quickly after just one month. I wanted to try this brand and I can tell it works but it is a little hard on my stomach, which is why the four stars. I know it’s working but tummy upsets are not fun. If I don’t adjust stomach wise I’ll likely go back to the Three Arrows brand.

this really works and is easy on the GI system!
Relatively expensive, but the only iron supplement i could tolerate: all the others caused MASSIVE GI upset, nausea, bloating and pain .... and even better, this supplement really works for me, bringing my ferritin from 36 ng/ml to 56 ng/ml in just a few weeks, taking 2-3 capsules per day, usually with food ... heme-based [animal-derived] iron is said to be several times more absorbable than non-heme-based iron, and is also said to absorb even better when Vitamin C is taken at the same time ... i'll continue to take this with a goal of ~100 ng/ml

Horrible stomach pain
It works - my energy seems to increase, and it's the first iron that doesn't give me hives. But it does cause intense, horrifying stomach pain, like a hole is being burned into my stomach. This is the only iron that's done this. When I tried to decrease my dose by opening the capsule and putting some of it in the sink, I noticed that the iron that went into the sink would *not* wash away. It stayed in the sink despite heavy water pressure. I had to scrub it out. It just... sticks...which is, I imagine, the cause of the horrible stomach pain. Most other irons have a cellulose or something to keep the iron from literally just sticking around and causing gastritis. So take that for what it's worth for you, but I unfortunately can't tolerate it.
