This was my first time assembling RJ45 connectors. My first few crimps were not good but by the 3rd I got the hang of it. I think either the crimper or the connectors are faulty. When making the initial crimp, the wires on the ends seemed to not always pierce, so I've deducted a star for that. The stripping works well on removing the shield and it cuts well. Just in case you don't know, the yellow tool can be used to punch down wires in keystone connectors. If you are wiring/fixing ethernet at home it would be a good idea to pickup some keystone connectors. The cable tester works fine, but you can tell it's cheap. The included "collars" worked fine for slipping over the cable. The kit is fine for small projects, but if I were crimping more than 15 connectors, I would invest in better crimpers and connectors.

I bought it and made about six ethernet cables myself for a security camera system I installed in my house and it worked perfectly. I highly recommend it. Very good quality and an unbeatable price.

I purchased this item for occasional use. I thought it might be a cheap plastic thing but I was pleasantly surprised. It is well made and all the important parts are made of steel. It has a nice "heft" to it. I didn't try using the outer housing cutter that is incorporated into the tool. It just seemed that it might be kind of awkward to rotate the entire tool around the cable. Instead I used the little yellow plastic cutter and it worked fine. If I were to pick at the item at all it would be that the instruction sheet is rather small and somewhat vague. All-in-all I am very happy with it. It works great. I recommend it.

Nice tool. I purchased this to run some Cat 6 for a home server setup. I didn't want something really cheap, I hate cheap tools. But at the same time I doubt I will ever need them again so I didn't want to go crazy. This was an awesome middle choice. They work great, feel quality, make perfect crimps. Pass through connectors are so much easier to work with. I like the tool has both color coded ways to build your connections with.

New user- watched a quick YouTube video and got to work- once you get the hang of it- it’s a breeze. Removed 400 ft of excess cabling from my project. A+ product - everything worked as advertised. I read the reviews before buying and the couple of bad reviews are not warranted. I believe that was user error.
