Morning Industry BHF-01AQ Handle Set Combo with Touchpad Deadbolt, Antique Brass

This is a very nice handle set and keypad lock. Looks really elegant and is heavy duty. Unfortunatly the inside handle had a small dent and the remote control was missing, but Amazon shipped a new set out immediatly as a reaplacement. Sometimes it doest unlock when you put in the code, it sort of gets stuck. It sounds like it is working, but doest fully move the deadbolt lock. If you hit the lock button then your unlock code again it seems to "free" it up. I think it has more to do with our door then the lock itself, since ours is an antique wooden door it sometimes expands in the heat, etc. and I think this causes the deadbolt not to fully engage/disengage. We just double check that it is locked when we leave by trying to open the door, just to be safe. Before we put it on the door we tested it several times and it worked perfectly. I think it will get better in time, its just a little tight right now. We had trouble with the old handleset too, so I really dont think its the fault of this new one but wanted to mention it in case it could help others.

I like the color and it does the job. However, I have two major gripes. First, it's not as easy to open and close as my old standard handle set. With this one, you have to use more force to turn the knob from the inside and if opening from outside, you have to push down firmly. The kids have a hard time operating it sometimes. Also, with my old set I could tell if my door was locked from several feet away as the handle/knob would be perfectly vertical. This one faces about 1-2 o'clock when it is locked and 10-11 o'clock when unlocked. For some reason I still have not gotten used to it after 6 months.

There was glue on the deadbolt which did not come off. I tried, to get it off with simple green and it just ate the paint and left the glue. I ended up repainting the deadbolt. The product is beautiful in style, but the handle didn't fit our existing holes so we had to repaint our original. We couldn't send the product back because we needed a deadbolt to cover the hole in the door as it is below zero here. If the handle would have fit and the glue spot was not there I would have given more stars.

It's holding up pretty good, could be better quality. And def gets hot when sun beats on it

Ok quality and does the job well. We are enjoying and would purchase again. All store purchased items of similar value are $50 more.

My husband is really handy, but he hated installing this. We ordered another one by another brand (that's also a lot cheaper), and he said that the new, cheaper one was way easier to install. He wanted me to make sure to write a review about how stupid this one was. Ha!Also, and this may be an issue with many brands because our new one is also like this, but the handle is way shinier than the deadbolt part. The deadbolt looks brushed and the handle is shiny. We ordered two, hoping the second one would match, but nope. So we're returning both and still debating on the one by the other brand.

Great item and excellent price! This was considerably cheaper than ones I found in Lowes or Home Depot. Can be programmed for multiple codes. The original batteries didn't last long so I would recommend buying better quality batteries to start with to save time in a month changing batteries.
