This is a good product, with a high skill ceiling for installation that I do not recommend normal people try. The product is of decent quality, and even if one or two of them fail, the company is more than willing to work with you to try to problem solve issues during the installation. They will even send new LED parts if one doesn't work like it's supposed to, you just have to email them through their support link (they will usually get back to you within 24 hours). So the service and raw product I mark highly.Where I will offer a serious warning is the installation itself. This is not an entry-level mod, and even if you follow the directions closely, you can easily mess something up and end up with a controller that (A) doesn't close properly, (B) doesn't work correctly, or (C) closes and seems to work but doesn't charge. Combine that with the fact that you will have to take apart the entire controller to install this, including disconnecting all of the delicate ribbon cables and unplugging the battery and wireless card, and you have yourself an install that even a tech could mess up if they aren't paying attention.It's not impossible to do this for the first time if you have no experience doing mods, especially if you follow the video closely, but understand that a first-time attempt with little experience will take you at least 3-4 hours to accomplish, more if you're being extra careful. Trying to rush it faster than that will most likely result in failure. That said, it's a cool product if you do the install correctly, isn't that expensive, and combined with the company support can, with difficulty, be completed by a first-time modder.

I bought two sets. One set for my son and one set for myself. One of his didn’t work so I used one of mine in his joycon. Then within hours one of his stopped working. Coincidentally it was the left side which was the one I had left from my set. Both of his are now working but I’m out. I contacted extremerate and at first they responding but now they are not. $79 for one working set up. I would not buy this product again nor would I recommend it.

This is the first mod I've ever done, and I made it more difficult for myself by also switching the joycon shell at the same time. I highly suggest watching the YouTube tutorial eXtremeRate put out - it was easy enough to follow and includes steps start to finish. I learned a lot while doing this mod and it was really fun! My only suggestions are to get your own nail file or sanding paper for the buttons, and tweezers - the ones they include work but both prongs broke on mine partway throughOne of the LEDs on the left joycon was burnt out, and Amazon sent out a replacement.

Got a faulty set and sent an email. got a email back within an hour saying they would ship new set. they resent left and right led, delivered within few days and new set works great! takes some time to install but with the videos on youtube its super easy

Don't get me wrong. When u purchase this you get exactly what's shown and it's very cool looking once complete. Now that being said. I've done these types of modifications in past on other consoles/controllers of mine. And we're always remove motherboard battery buttons etc put clear ones in stick the thing on and plug it in. And essentially that's.whats going on here and the description claims it to be an easy process. It definitely is not. It's very difficult. The included pamphlet/instructions is not enough on it's own. I assume the company knows that bc first paragraph says to search for this video tutorial. Which is a good one in a way. It's 56 mins and no talking. And I get this is a relative thing we're it might come easier to others than me. The point I want to get across. Is be prepared for a big project that.based on skill level could be insurmountable. And remember by design you're going to have to do this whole.thing twice since2 joy cons.

It was not clear that I had to remove and replace the entire motherboard of the joystick this is not for a normal user. I purchased for my son thinking I was only replacing the buttons not dismantling the entire motherboard and have to put it back together! This should not be sold to the public without knowing the consequences. My joysticks are garbage.

They look absolutely amazing!!!!!! Product seems well made and installation went fairly smooth. Just be careful with the ribbon cables they are very delicate.

The quality as usual from extreme rate is top notch , as is the video , i will say this was a little difficult , but just be patient and take your time , and keep things organized. Theres lots of small parts in these controllers , especially the left one , right controller seemed much easier

Ich bin persönlich vollkommen zufrieden damit. Alles funktioniert 1A. Allerdings nichts für Laien. Vernünftiges Feinschraubenwerkzeug, Antistatische Pinzetten und eine Antistatik-Matte sollten vorher bestellt werden. Ich habe das alles Zuhause da ich öfter mal nen joycon repariere. Mit den Flachkabeln muss man seeehr vorsichtig sein da diese schnell kaputt gehen können (neue Ersatzkabel kann man aber nachbestellen), also nichts für Grobmotoriker. Auch beim Stecker lösen des Akkus sollte vorsichtig geboten sein da sich der Steckerport schnell von der Platine lösen kann und es dann nicht mehr möglich ist ihn fest zu löten da es Millimeter Arbeit ist. Man sollte sich auch merken wie die Kabel vorher eingesteckt waren. So kam es bei nem Kumpel dazu das die ZR taste nicht funktionierte. Er hat mir den joycon vorbei gebracht und innerhalb von 5 min funktionierte die ZR taste wieder. Das Problem war das das Kabel falschherum eingesteckt war. Ich bin überglücklich damit, auch wenn es ein bisschen nervt das man die Beleuchtung nur über die SL/SR Tasten die sich innen befinden steuern kann. Aber wer kein Feinmotoriker mit viel Geduld und im besten Fall mit Technik vertraut ist, sollte diesen Umbau vielleicht lieber lassen. Ist jedem selbst überlassen ob oder ob nicht aber es ist viel Arbeit und es kann schnell was kaputt gehen.
