Is this arm too long for my 2004 Ford Escape?

The Dorman 42536 will fit all Ford Escapes, Mercury Mariners, and Mazda Tributes manufactured thru 1/7/2007. I put one on a 2005 Escape, and it fit perfectly. Make sure the rear wiper is turned off and "parks" correctly before turning off the key prior to arm replacement, and be sure to put the new arm on the splined motor shaft so it aligns the same (parallel to the bottom edge of glass) as the old one you remove.

Is this the bolt on or the "gear" attachment??

Nope. This is the arm that attaches to the "gear," which is the splined end of the motor drive shaft.

Does anybody that actually purchased this arm and installed know the "actual" length of the arm (not listed)? Installing on a UTV, not Ford Escape.

the arm itself is 11.3 inches with the blade the total length is 126 inches
