Not perfect, but very, very good.
In most ways WILDER is an excellent book. I had two problems with it. First, the author spent far too much time talking about herself. Fine, and I'm happy for her choices and her life, but don't consider them relevant to the topic. Second, she seemed unable to see the very sharp distinctions between sport hunting, legal commercial hunting (both of which are carefully regulated today and pose no real threat to any terrestrial species) and poaching, which is a major problem. That said, WILDER is well worth reading and I strongly recommend it.

Rewilding
An intriguing view of what our world once looked like and what it could be again. It is so important to pay attention to how mankind might be disrupting the natural order of things that are so important for the health of any community. Millie Kerr does a wonderful job of explaining these concepts to the novice and to those that are experienced. Mary Winters

Fascinating read for conservation newbie
I am new (uninformed!) to the topic of conservation and rewilding. Author Millie Kerr does a fantastic job weaving in stories about cultures, histories, and fascinating humans to make this topic accessible and intriguing. The written journey she takes you on is memorable and impactful and has raised my awareness to the environment around me. Highly recommend!

An Important Message in a page turner
In ‘Wilder’, Millie Kerr conveys a message likely more important to the future of life on our planet, than all the uncertain claims of environmental damage by the burning of fossil fuels. ‘Wilder’ is absolutely fabulous reading. It’s a page turner that I couldn't put down. Thank you, Millie Kerr! I want to see the movie! It belongs on all the best seller lists.

Just “OK”.
This is a trending topic and interesting. This book seems a series of journalistic articles perhaps originally submitted elsewhere. Sloppy editing like a sentence repeated in the same paragraph. I found “Wilding” by Isabella Tree much more detailed and interesting and highly recommend it.

For anyone curious about current rewilding and wildlife conservation success stories
Conservation journalist Millie Kerr looks at an eclectic mix of current projects considered success stories in rewilding. Kerr examines the possibilities and consequences of rewilding in places such as Mozambique; New Zealand; San Antonio, Texas; Rwanda; Argentina; and China. Limited by Covid restrictions, Kerr depended on her past experiences as well as more recent interviews and deep research. The result is drier and less compelling than I would have liked, but the book does a good job of shedding light on the growth of rewilding and the constantly evolving nature of such conservation efforts. That light-shedding is more important than ever in these times. I would recommend this book to anyone curious about rewilding in any and all its facets.
