Mediocre Quality
Paint finish was already chipped on one, smoky on the other (white), screws snapped during installation and needed to use own hardware. Would not buy again.

Easy to install and exactly as advertised.
I purchased a similar doorstop and it was hard to install and came apart when the door closed. I decided to give version a try and I could not be happier.

Some issues mounting (on my cheap interor home doors!) but these are really nice
Have a couple of doors in my house going into the garage that, when the screen room sliding doors are open to the outside, wind rushing through the house slams either/both doors! Thus was using a couple of the rubber wedge-type door stoppers. Pretty ugly..and a bit of a pain. So I see these and say - Hey, magnetic stoppers! Ordered 4 and installed yesterday and am pleased. A bit pricey....but pretty good quality. A word or two of advice: WORD 1. The short magnetic part that goes on the door (the long part goes on the wall or screws into the baseboard) has the mount that you put the screws in threaded into the housing. A bit if a challenge to remove it. You are presented with just 2 little screw holes. You need to improvise some sort of removal tool - I used a large 3 inch cotter pin bent into a U-shape so the two ends were about 3/4" apart. Worked well. WORD 2. This short piece that goes into the door needs two screws, and most interior house doors have empty space under much of the door exterior that's only a 1/4 inch thick and might be made of some material even cheaper than thin plywood. If you use thier long screws, they won't go into much of anything and you could easily strip the screw in the mount. They do give you anchors, but the fit is tight and the first one I used just resulted in the anchor stripping and spinning in the hole! I then used my own anchors (that held better), and my own screw (that screwed more easily into the anchor without making the anchor rotate). Two of these four door stops was at the end of the door, so no problem - the door was wood all the way through on the end of the door. Two of these stops, however, I had to mount about 14 and 18 inches from the hinged side of the door, and here i ran onto issues making sure the mount was attached secure enough and anchors worked in the hollow area of the door. (If you have my problem, you will understand what the issue is. Just takes a little care in the mounting.) Bottom line, these are really nice. They do the job. White is the color I need. Look really good. And they hold well enough. Five stars.

Strong magnet will hold just about any door. I am buying more of these right after I finish my review.
When I received this I noticed right away the magnet was twice as strong as another brand I bought to compare with. I also noticed there were 3 screws to anchor to the sheetrock wall where the other brand only had 2 screws. This was my first concern because I attach them at the top of the door so the other part needs to attach to the sheetrock wall with the provided plastic wall anchors. This way they are not in the way when vacuuming or mopping. Anyway with 3 screws I am confident these will never pull off the wall with such a strong magnet. The small spring loaded part only has two screws which is sufficient for attaching to the wood door. These worked great on my garage entry doors that are heavy solid core doors with spring hinges. The other brand I tried wouldn't hold these doors. The two parts do need to be lined up perfectly for the magnet to hold the best, which can be tricky. If you need to make adjustments like I did it's as easy as removing one screw on the part you attach to the door and rotating it just enough to drill one new screw hole. Depend on which screw you remove you can rotate it in 4 different directions.TIP: mount the part with the magnet first and let it hold the other part, swing the door open and when it touches, make sure the part is flush to the door. With a short pencil trace around the part that will be attached to the door. Now you just need to screw the second part in the center of the circle that you traced on the door. I got the second one dead on.

A Nice Piece of Hardware
I am very pleased with this magnetic doorstop SOSS Zinc Magnetic Door Stop with Hidden Screw Mounts, White Exterior Finish . For lack of knowing proper terminology, I refer to the two pieces as the post and the cradle. I mounted the post on the baseboard of the wall, and the cradle on the lower edge of the door. This is an in-line configuration, which is not the configuration illustrated in the Amazon listing, but also works well. I applied this doorstop to a solid core, spring closing, fire door between the garage and house. The cradle has a cushioning spring with about 3/16 inch travel that facilitates the connection between the post and cradle without bouncing apart. Obviously if the impact is too great the door will still bounce off the doorstop, but the spring travel provides a very workable range of door velocities for which the magnet will grab and retain the door. The magnet provides sufficient holding power to retain the door reliably, even against the door closing spring, and yet releases the door when gently pulled to initiate closing. In my application, I do not have to contend with wind, and admittedly, doors have large surfaces to convert wind into force, but my sense is that in most applications where the door is against a wall in its open position, the magnetic holding force will be adequate to withstand most wind conditions. As noted by another reviewer, this doorstop came with an additional piece of hardware that appears to have no purpose. As with that other reviewer, I could not figure out what it is for, and did not use it.

Instructions lacking
You can see the instructions shown in images. Add to this that the door fitting comes apart by squeeze the 2 sides together and unscrewing the cylinder section counter clockwise.Note box includes health WARNING for chromium and nickel.Does the job as advertised. Strong magnet. Door will lock with a thud (despite spring in door fitting) and need to give some pull to get apart.

Great magnetic doorstop
Works great to keep my front door from closing on itself. Will use it lots when carrying in groceries, big items, etc. I found the instructions to install difficult to follow. You need to twist both the doorstop pole and the door piece in order to remove the plate to insert the screws. For the door piece I used scissors to reach inside in order to twist it off. Assembly instructions could be better. Now that I have it installed, works great. I couldn't screw one piece into my metal door so I used command strips and seems to be working fine for now. Would buy again.

Works well
A bit too strong (could even use it with spring‐loaded closers). But placed a few layers of scotch tape over the magnet to lessen the attraction. I have 4 now

Shoddy screws, one broke in half during installation
One of the screws for the door component broke right off while my handyman was installing it using normal force. Makes me doubt the quality of the entire item.
