In my opinion, it’s pretty close to the color shown. Sometimes lipstick shades appear different on different people because of natural lip color.

How does it open? Protective wrapping I can’t get into? Please help!

Lift/pull up the plastic wrap, just a bit to slip small scissors or even a fingernail clipper, to cut a slit in the plastic; that will get you started and you can pull the plastic down.
